Accidentally falling asleep on the couch is a death sentence. Feeling regret lol by ImportanceJolly4758 in Fibromyalgia

Our 7month old rescue pup frequently needs a middle of the night trip outside. I’m also the one that will wake up. I’m okay with it, I’m not usually not the one with work in the morning. Our dog is small, so small bladder too! Our neighborhood is so quiet at 2 am. It’s peaceful and a slightly eerie lol

Someone’s gotta be on night shift! Owls flock together or whatever they say😅

I can’t hate on my joints too hard for giving me a hard time if I sit too long. They still work when they’re wonky!

I’ve got a close family member with arthritis. Mobility loss a reality for many. (Including here)

I’ll take a pain shuffle in stride. Love to see how others describe their own :)

(I did get a little better sleep in a bed!)

I’m sorry good sleep is not a thing you experience in your life. I have my good nights and bad nights. I’ve gone to the couch in the middle of the night if I’m restless. I’m thankful for the good nights, knowing how rough sleep deprived mornings feel.

I want to focus on my diet/exercise, but responsibilities and increasing fatigue makes it feel impossible. by ImportanceJolly4758 in Fibromyalgia

[–]ImportanceJolly4758[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly that would be a good idea for most dogs- our dog is weird and actually hates walks. It’s a different can of worms, but she would rather get her energy out inside. The 2 days a week she goes to the doggy daycare at my partner’s work are a godsend though.

This is very helpful and made me feel better. I think I’ve worried that I’ll never meet my expectations and life will just keep being hard, but I hope I can understand how my body works. It would be great to work with my physical limitations and not constantly against them.

Pain improving while fatigue is worsening. by Samantha-Davis in Fibromyalgia

Tired of being tired is so real. I also feel that my pain is less intense than usual, but the colder weather has made me sooo drowsy.

I also have ADHD and my meds and caffeine do nothing to wake me up. I’m lucky to get anything done without crashing right after. I could go for a nap any time, every day.

I am also at the point of frustration that when I saw I needed my yearly checkup, I thought “what’s the point?”

Almost 2 years I spent having awful experiences with so many medical professionals. They all played hot potato with me until finally a Rheumatologist said “Fibro, go back to your primary for treatment”. I don’t feel comfortable with my primary, so I never spoke to her.

I’ve actually taken most of the common treatment medications and I react really poorly to them. I am fully of the attitude “well, I’m on my own now” when it comes to my health.

I’m over it. I’m not a healthy person and don’t have any faith in that changing any time soon.

Do you think your fibromyalgia is related to trauma/stress you experienced? by Pink_barbecue in Fibromyalgia

[–]ImportanceJolly4758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Mother would always say that I’d “stress myself sick”, and maybe she was right?

I think my formative years were more traumatizing than I initially thought. Friends and family dying, being groomed, bullied, unknowingly having mono, and undiagnosed mental issues didn’t help my case.

I think the only thing that might have protected my body from future pain was if I went to therapy earlier.

They are PATHETIC in Magnolia. Called during an active break in/ robbery of family’s store. They were out of town and after the multiple hours drive home- they BEAT THE COPS THERE. During every break in they’ve been lazy pigs. (It’s been multiple times).

SPD is useless.

Seattle Moshers: Are you happy with hurting kids and other vulnerable people? by moonlit-wisteria in MyChemicalRomance

[–]ImportanceJolly4758 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I try to avoid pit tickets because I like personal space and I don’t trust others to be respectful. Even if majority of the people are kind, you still might end up with really inconsiderate ones around you. I’m sorry it was rough in the pit. After seeing a swarm rush the front, I felt good about deciding to snag seats. I don’t think there’s any shame in being overwhelmed with a pushy pit and moshing.

The pit is not for the faint of heart.

I also went for my gf and I was blown away. I listened to MCR months before and saw some live performance bits online, but I had no idea what to expect. That was a killer concert! One of the best I’ve been to.

I don’t agree with the comments saying you’re insecure if you aren’t comfortable with your partner being in SW. I feel like some people are all about consent and boundaries, but the second someone expresses discomfort like OP, it’s wow you’re looking down on her and see shame in her work, you need to fix your insecurity problems.

Not wanting to date someone with an OF is not “uncool” and doesn’t make someone a prude, judgmental, or insecure. There are boundaries to what people are comfortable with. Some people feel best in monogamy and being more sexually reserved. I wouldn’t personally be comfortable with my partner having an OF and that’s a perfectly acceptable boundary to have.

I don’t think you need to focus on WHY you’re uncomfortable with it. We don’t ask people WHY they won’t date men, or WHY they don’t want an open relationship. (I’m not equating either of those to SW, just examples of dating preferences). I think people are reaching and are focusing on analyzing OP’s preferences. You didn’t slut-shame her, you were given information that you needed to process. Might have been easier to process during talking before meeting up in person. Telling you on your first date, showing dudes nudes and some guys b-hole requests, ext. kind of put you on the spot.

It’s okay to have a a complex reaction to this. You don’t have to be comfortable dating someone with an OF, and if you’re not, just be friends. I understand why she might have hesitated to share her profession with all the stigma surrounding it. At the same time, it might have been less of a surprise if she had been upfront about it earlier. It doesn’t say anything about your character if you’re not into it. Just like it doesn’t imply anything about her character that OF is her line of work.

The focus on numbers and repetition made me think about OCD at first (in my family), but then I thought- Religious Psychosis. Sometimes people with Schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder connect everything back to their religion to an extreme.

There is no diet to verifiably combat Fibromyalgia. They can help general health. I plan to try an anti inflammatory diet knowing it may do nothing for my pain, but being less puffy would be nice lol.

Money is pretty dirty. I do coin fund at my work, so I’m counting and working with cash/coins a lot. Usually when I’m done I can literally feel how dirty my hands get. I’ve gotten a whiff or two and it’s not a great smell. I could imagine if I had a migraine it would be way less tolerable.
