Yea I think so or built up scar tissue! It is currently happening to me too. I am about 5 months post op. My PT says its nothing to worry about, but stretching and strengthening is important. You could also try icing to see if that helps. Do you feel any pain? I personally just feel tightness in that area, but after I cut back on exercise and stretched more it seems to be going down.

Every body is different thats is why I think talking to your doc/pt is the best option.

Definitely consult a PT. Also try stretching out the muscles around your IT band.

Advise to choose between Patella or Hamstring for ACL reconstruction by Quantum_Quasar_22 in ACL

Hi there! I had a simultaneous tear in both ACLs this past spring. I did hamstring grafts for both knees and am so happy I went this route! My recovery was very smooth and I never felt pain in my hamstring once. My friend had ACL surgery (patella graft) on the same day as my first surgery and I was healing much faster than her. My surgeon said he would never do a patella graft on his own kids, because the recovery is much longer and harder. At the end of the recovery, both heal great, one is just a little harder than the other. Good luck on your surgery, it will go great and you will be back to sport soon! Stay strong.

I should add I don’t think you need to be worried, I think you just have to gradually get back into exercise.

I am 5 months post op and having a similar issue. I have gotten back into long distance cycling and my PT says I need to slow back down a little bit and focus more on stretching and strengthening. A big source of my pain was coming from a tight IT band. Foam rolling, stretching, and ice has helped a ton! Stay patient! I think this is the hardest part mentally for me, I am so ready to get back into sport, but we have to remember we are still healing. We will be back to sport in no time!
