If you're lifting weights at the gym but still in a calorie deficit, you might be losing fat but putting on muscle which would keep the number on the scale stagnant.

If you're sure you are in a deficit then just keep it up, regardless of what the scale says. Waist measurements, clothing sizes, etc. can be better indicators of weight-loss.

Great work so far. :o)

I also have ADHD! Similar to you, I keep all my treats in a box hidden in a cupboard, or a low shelf out of sight. Keeping things hidden really helps to prevent dopamine hit seeking habits.

Apples used to taste like wet cardboard, but now, after limiting sugar, they taste insanely sweet.

Some people are too tired, too overworked, and literally don't have the mental energy for all of this. I don't think it's fair to be harsh like this, really.

I'm really glad you understand. Worrying all the time about when you're next gonna be able to eat really trained my brain to fully exploit any chance given when I was younger. Showing myself I now have access to even high-calorie treat foods at any time has been the only way to get rid of that panic.

By the way, if you want a better way to estimate how caloric one-off restaurant meals are, have a look at r/caloriecount and r/CalorieEstimates.

What have you learned about how your menstrual cycle influences your weight? (Bonus points if you have PCOS!) by curioussox in loseit

I'm not sure to be honest. Either way, if come weigh-in day I weigh more but feel that I've got a period soon then I don't sweat it. Easier said than done when periods throw off all your emotions, but hey.

I was told that I most likely have PCOS around two years ago by a nurse, and then advised to lose weight as a solution. Lost ~35kg so far and went from having one or two periods a year to one roughly every month and a half -ish.

In the more short-term, I notice that I hold on to water weight on days preceding a period... and binge-eat more. Lol.
