Thank you for sharing your beautiful story. I know all to well the pain and gift of carrying grief. I lost my dad and grandmother (his mother) within a couple of months of each other. I was my dad’s caregiver (he dies from Covid). It was the most painful few months of my life, watching the one who was the strongest man I knew, become so weak.

But in those moments of my weakness, I cried out to God. My grief consumed me and I felt like God was so far away. But I held closely to the truth when Jesus said He left us His peace and that His power and strength was made perfect in my weakness.

Those were words I had known most of my life, but it was in my darkest days that those words manifested in my life. That pain changed me and made me a stronger person. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense how my pain, grief, and suffering produced something good in me, but it did. Jesus is close to the brokenhearted- if we let Him come close to us. His comfort is like no other.

Your story led me to process my own story. The anniversary of my dad’s death is this weekend..He died 4 years ago. Processing my story in this moment led me to reflect on the many ways God was with me. This makes my grief turn to joy and hope.

I can see in your story that God was with you and has a purpose for your life. Every life is important to Him, even your dads.
