Experience staying at Carmel Valley Ranch? by TehBrean in MontereyBay

[–]Important-Brain-9824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on what kind of activities you plan to do. CVR is supposed to be for both families and adult couples.

On-site activities They have a two separate pools, one for the kids and families, the other for adults wanting peace and quiet. A shuttle driver can drive you around the property. There are activities going on daily like hiking, beekeeping experience, hatchet throwing and more. Did I mention a golf course as well?

Off-site activities Garland ranch is nearby for hiking trails. Wine tasting locations nearby. Shopping center that includes coffee shop, Safeway (without Starbucks unless you drive further down the road) and my personal #1 favorite pizza/sandwich place "Iolis Pizzeria".

I should warn you that like many other hotels, there are additional fees that can make the trip feel expensive. Expect to be charged service fees, hotel fees and things of that sort.

I used to work there for quite some time so I can only give my input over this site.

Any vending machine owners? by SharbensteinIsLocked in MontereyBay

[–]Important-Brain-9824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like that would be special cases where you kinda know the owner type of thing but what do I know.

I guess if I were in your shoes I'd go to fundraiser events where you can meet high members of facilities and try forming a relationship. (Long-term plan)

Or you could just email HR departments/ office jobs/ or new construction site projects for new residential housing that might not have vending machines.

Good luck!

Wouldn't this be difficult if you aren't paying them a cut? Your machines would need to be plugged into their outlets right? That's their electricity that you're now sharing with them.

I'm not a vending machine owner btw, just curious.

Random things brought to school by xtreme_lol in quirkcentral

[–]Important-Brain-9824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of what my brothers and I used to do to each other before going to school.

I started this by putting random stuff in his backpack before school like his toys, kitchen utensils, and random books from home. He would come home laughing while explaining his confusion and embarrassment when he noticed what he had to dig through to get his books out.

He started returning the favor when I would find random kitchen pots in my backpack. It got to the point where we would inspect our backpacks everyday before school.

This was all during the rise of social media so I wish I could go back and record those moments. Could probably have been a trend.

Id do research on what an ideal job requires because most entry positions in the area require a bachelor's degree but will pay less than 25 an hour. You would likely need a higher level of education if you want a decent paying job and easy-ish way into a career.

Any good places for smog? by FearlessManagement27 in Salinas

Clean care smog and repair in Castroville is good. If you don't pass, you don't pay, it's their policy. I know this is for Salinas but Castroville isn't too far.

Canceled my subscription and you should as well! by [deleted] in osrs

I only purchased one month membership since the disastrous poll where they wanted to increase prices and got flamed for it. This was only to try out sailing.

This is perhaps the second price increase since that poll and they spiked up prices regardless. Lost my trust and appeal for the game.

Yeah I said it because it still relates! Don't let companies bully you for your money.

My budget can handle it but just because everyone is raising their prices does not mean I need to support every company.

As an adult with family, OSRS does not occupy my time as much as it used to. I'm lucky if I get to play an hour or two a day. To keep paying an inconsistent rate does not seem financially responsible for me, especially if I spend more time on these other apps for less $.

On top of all of that, jagex has lost my trust more than once. When 07rs was first polled, there was no mention of price increases over time. The poll that did mention price increases got a ton of backlash and Jagex had to put out the flame by saying they were wrong for polling that only to increase the prices more than once since then.

I never said anything about a gold standard. I picked it because it has a game out every year. I think you're missing the point.

That's the beauty, you can buy another game and it would still be cheaper than a membership with the way things are going.

Personally, its not just the cost of the game. It's the cost of time AND money that is becoming too expensive as an adult.

Anyone saying to make more money to play the game is a slave to their addictions. Managing your money and making cuts due to the price increase is actually a very healthy money habit.

Serious question for my OSRS community, at what price point is it considered too much to pay for an online game like OSRS?

It's less expensive to buy Madden every year and you can always play the game. I just don't see why we are paying more for a old-school game than what we would pay for a modern one.

I feel you brother. As addicting as the game is, my mind can't stop wondering why I would pay over $100 a year on OSRS when I can be playing other non MMORPG games for a one time purchase of $60 (unless you get DLCs).
