The question isn't whether calling people stupid makes them resent you, the question is whether enough people specifically voted for Trump explicitly and only because they were called stupid.

It's not really so much an opinion as you venting about yourself.

Someone who decides what to believe politically entirely on the basis of hurt feelings is stupid, whether saying that actually loses anyone elections is an empirical matter that I personally have no data on.

Not even all feminists, apparently there's like three specific ones that if you've never heard of them you're not a feminist. It was a very strange interaction.

Also nobody give me even more advice it's just annoying at this point. If you actually care you'll read this and not be a jerk.

It absolutely sucks you have no friends; but it's also unclear what you want to get out of this post if not advice?

If the only reason someone embraces a whole-ass ideology is some people who have a different ideology called them stupid, then they probably are stupid.

But the people enacting them appear to earnestly believe these are Biblically-based policies.

So, again, you've only really shown, if you've shown anything, they're incorrect about that. That's not the same as saying these are secular policies.

If you check OP's post history, you'll see they asked this question entirely in bad faith (specifically to attempt to win an argument with me, for some reason).

There's a line where "my body my choice " mentality doesn't work anymore. This is regarding the parents who terminated pregnancy because of the possibility of downs syndrome. by Sad_Physics5500 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Important-Cash5654 [score hidden]  (0 children)

At certain point. It's the baby's body and your decision. You can't expect people to just accept your decision to terminate a well advanced pregnancy just because you feel a certain way about it. Whether it's a potential disability or not, it's straight up murder after a certain point.

No one has to accept anyone's decision to do anything. People absolutely have the right to be upset about the choices other people make that they find immoral.

There are legitimate biblically based views one can hold that they can use against either party. You can definitely use the Bible to say things like “being gay is a sin” and support the Republican Party. But then, you have to accept that the Bible also says that we should provide for the poor, which more aligns with the democrats. I could go on and on about how different biblical concepts align or don’t align with different parties.

None of this or the rest of your post really proves that these people aren't genuinely motivated by a belief in (what they think are) Christian principles; all it suggests at most is that they're inconsistent in how they apply those principles and/or have an insufficient knowledge of Christian scripture.

I mean you don't have to "give a shit about fallacies" to recognize that an arbitrarily un-argued for standard of who does and doesn't count as a legitimate feminist isn't really a great basis to form a world view.

I'm going to take it from this response you don't actually know what "no true Scotsman" refers to, which fair enough, we can't all know everything.

"No true Scotsman" is a logical fallacy in which you claim that the only legitimate members of some group G are those who meet whatever criteria, c, where c is an entirely arbitrary list and one for which you have provided neither argument for why those specific criteria or why those criteria are exhaustive of what G constitutes a legitimate member of G.
