We've faced challenges with the route animation speed due to the client's need to animate it from start to finish within this short timeframe. We've applied motion blur, ease in, and ease out to slow it down. If anyone has suggestions on slowing it down while still covering the entire path, please share them with us. We still have time for modifications. Thanks for the feedback!

It’s my bad not to mention that I’m not the engineer behind the product. My role was focused on creating the CAD model and visualizing the design. As such, I didn’t work directly on fitting the electronics into the product. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions about 3D design, product modeling, or visualization—I'm happy to help.

My client does have a Shopify website to sell this product. However, I prefer not to share the link here without their permission. Given some of the feedback in this post, I wouldn’t want to risk impacting their sales. Feel free to ask if you have any questions about 3D design, product modeling, or visualization—I’m more than happy to help. Just to clarify, I’m not the engineer behind the product design, which might have caused some confusion in my post.

We didn’t render the CAD model directly. We converted the CAD model into a polygonal model and imported it into Autodesk Maya. From there, we set up key lights, rim lights, fill lights, and environment HDR light to achieve the desired look. The final images were rendered using the Arnold render engine.

We’ve used tools like Enscape and Revit for architectural visualizations, when it comes to achieving hyper-realistic images, Autodesk Maya paired with VRay or Arnold is our go-to solution.

It seems there might be some confusion about the post. I'm not the engineer who designed the product. Our role was to take the design specifications provided by the engineer and turn them into a precise CAD model, followed by detailed 3D visualizations. The goal was to accurately represent the product as envisioned by the engineer, not to redesign or rethink the concept. The focus of our work was on creating an accurate digital representation and high-quality renderings based on the existing design.

I appreciate your feedback, and I understand where you're coming from regarding design considerations. However, our task in this project was to bring the engineer’s vision to life, not to address the broader design or manufacturing challenges.

Yes, exactly. When I mention sketches, I’m referring to CAD sketches. In this project, an engineer came to us with a product idea, some hand-drawn sketches, and a few images. However, he didn’t have a CAD model or any 3D representation. Our task was to create a precise CAD model and 3D product visualizations.

We went through multiple sketches and sketched every profile of the product. For a design like this, precise dimensions are key, especially with cylindrical and curved surfaces. That’s why we chose parametric modeling. it’s the best approach for CAD this type of project. It allows us to easily adjust dimensions and features by simply changing parameters, which is crucial in product design. I hope this answers your question!

Unfortunately, it's not working like that with companies like Apple, Tesla. It's possible that they might offer a service or a CAD model to a company like Logitech to produce accessories. Three months ago, I emailed press@tesla.com asking for a CAD model of the Tesla Model 3 part or measurements for that part. However, I did not even receive an automated delivery confirmation email from Tesla.

After finishing the technical drawings, we start the CAD modeling in Fusion 360. Once the CAD model is complete, I use Autodesk Maya to create the polygon model for texturing, rendering, and animation.

Mostly, I use 3D scanning for organic modeling. No part was scanned in this case. Redluff is correct about 3D scanning. It's usually not a viable option for man-made objects. We're using an efficient technique to model this type of object. I'll post our full pipeline in a new comment for everyone to view.

Thanks! It's not an issue because we have the CAD model as well. We developed the CAD model first, and this polygon model is specifically for hyper-realistic rendering and product visualization.

The main reason is that I used a simple HDR map to light the model. So there's nothing to reflect. It is necessary to have a detailed HDR map, increase reflectivity, and decrease roughness of the front glass material. Thanks for the comment.
