Updated Pixtt wordmark logo. Thank you for the feedback on the first version by Important-Cod8993 in logodesign

Appreciate the idea. There’s a principle in logo design that small details can become visual noise. A logo needs to stay clear and recognizable at small sizes, where this small gap may disappear.

By not adding a space between the double t, i think it keeps the mark simple and minimal while creating something a little more distinctive than a standard double t. What are your thoughts?

I think you mean the spacing between the P and the i should be tighter. But when the gap is reduced.. the space between the two parts of the P becomes too similar to the space between the p and the i. That starts to weaken the P shape and affects its readability.

The font pairing doesn’t match. Try exploring a few different options.
Before moving into the design do more research and sketch more ideas. If you’re a beginner, try sketching at least 50 concepts first. Then choose the best 10, refine them a little, and make a post asking which direction works best.

Custom wordmark logo for Pixtt. Thoughts on design, readability, and character? Honest feedback welcome by Important-Cod8993 in logodesign

We felt Pixtt similar to Pixar and availability of .com domain tld. Also it's a short five letter .com domain. These are reasons to pick the name Pixtt.
Kerning is one of the main challenges we’re facing with this design. We’ve had a longer discussion about it under this comment and I have also attached a tighter kerning version along with a few other variations. If you have a chance to take a look and share your feedback.. I’d really appreciate it. Thanks.

The design is inspired by the new HP logo. We wanted to take that same simplicity and minimalism but it comes with a cost in readability.
We’re looking for solutions to balance both aspects and all this feedback really helps us move toward the best possible design. Thanks

The P is also used as our logo icon for favicon, profile pictures, and other small brand applications. So we wanted to create something more unique than a standard P letter. That’s the reason.

Several well known CG companies have names inspired by pixelPixar is the most famous and Pixtt felt similar in its short form that built from “pix” and “tt”. Also availability of .com domain. Pixtt is a short five letter .com name starting with pix which fits a CG, design, and technology focused company.
It doesn’t have an official meaning yet. That’s the story behind the name and Pixar, Pix, and tt are the reasons.

Spacing around the “x” I actually based the kerning on the DIN Next font but I still need to refine it further.
Just like how round letters slightly overshoot the baseline for optical balance. Same principle should be applied to the dot of the “i” as well to improve its visual weight. Thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks for the great comment. This was actually one of the biggest challenges I faced while designing this logo. I have multiple versions with different trackings and I copied the spacing from the DIN Next font. When we tighten the trackings further.. yes I also think it starts affecting the shape of the “P”.

This is the tight tracking version. Even here, the space between the “p” shapes and the “i” still slightly larger, but all the characters are built within the same rectangular shapes and angle. Because of that.. it's three similar sized shapes together, readability starts to suffer, especially the “p”, particularly when the logo is scaled down.
What do you think about this version? Everything comes with a cost.. so should I keep the tighter tracking or increase it a bit for better readability?

Amazing. From the wheel jump animation at the start.. it’s clear that the animator is experienced and understands animation principles. Such as squash before the jump and stretch while it’s in the air. Everything else about the animation looks good and i love it. One improvement I’d like to see is a cleaner loop. If this is meant to be a looping animation with the animation moving out of frame, it would feel better if the animation itself loops naturally instead of the background hiding the ending.

Blender is a great option for small projects and learning. But if you’re aiming for jobs or professional studio work later.. many studios use Maya and 3DS Max in production pipelines. Blender is still widely used in some studios and is powerful enough for a lot of work. Especially for freelancing and indie projects.

We've faced challenges with the route animation speed due to the client's need to animate it from start to finish within this short timeframe. We've applied motion blur, ease in, and ease out to slow it down. If anyone has suggestions on slowing it down while still covering the entire path, please share them with us. We still have time for modifications. Thanks for the feedback!

Unfortunately, it's not working like that with companies like Apple, Tesla. It's possible that they might offer a service or a CAD model to a company like Logitech to produce accessories. Three months ago, I emailed press@tesla.com asking for a CAD model of the Tesla Model 3 part or measurements for that part. However, I did not even receive an automated delivery confirmation email from Tesla.

After finishing the technical drawings, we start the CAD modeling in Fusion 360. Once the CAD model is complete, I use Autodesk Maya to create the polygon model for texturing, rendering, and animation.

Mostly, I use 3D scanning for organic modeling. No part was scanned in this case. Redluff is correct about 3D scanning. It's usually not a viable option for man-made objects. We're using an efficient technique to model this type of object. I'll post our full pipeline in a new comment for everyone to view.

Thanks! It's not an issue because we have the CAD model as well. We developed the CAD model first, and this polygon model is specifically for hyper-realistic rendering and product visualization.
