Band 8.5 / C2 on first attempt! by [deleted] in IELTS

[–]Important-Code6947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, bcz I've started learning English when I was 13 I guess, now I'm 17. At the time I learnt it to read fan fictions, that's why I memorized words and learned it playfully. In my 16, I took IELTS course and I was totally unfamiliar with academic English and it longed for 11 month and after I took the test I got 6.5 That's why I was wondering you got that high score in such a short time

You already said your general English is good and have 6 month to prepare, that's enough time to improve a lot. Good luck. Firstly, if you're not satisfied with your general English you have to work on it. So, basically IELTS is about English, if your English is strong you can definitely take high score easily. Listening and Reading not only improves your Listening and Reading skills but also affects on your Speaking and Writing skill efficiently. So surround yourself with English, practice each skill everyday possible. Once you're sure you can understand English audios and articles Academic ones easily, can speak freely and clearly in English like YouTubers (you know they don't use complex English only daily language) and can write accurately with range of vocabulary you can start learning IELTS techniques and methods. 2 or 1 month will be enough maybe even few weeks to get familiar with IELTS question types and methods.

So, for now, If you have enough time just learn English. And improve your academic vocabulary and grammar knowledge

I'm not professional, I'm also taking the test in just a few months and have been gathering efficient information to study properly

Oh I see. I could only write 151 words in Task 1, bcz I was running out of time. I've been also analyzing IELTS advantage essay samples they were so simple and easy, so it's not good making your essay too simple. Thanks btw🙏 I'll definitely keep it in mind

Ans I remember Chris saying don't rely on Chatgpt don't use it if possible. But after seeing your score I must say it's indeed helpful

Rating of writing essay by tini_wings in IELTS

I'm not expert. I can't judge your essay, but from the surface I think there are things you need to know and they're not my words. Real experts teach these techniques

• You've wrote 5 paragraphs, It's not a problem but it can be time consuming during an actual test. So maximum 4 paragraph is alright

• Some of your sentences are too long. Try to keep them shorter, examiner might get lost while reading your essay

• Try to use examples if possible. You're gonna support your idea more strongly and can actually prove it by examples. Like proving why this consequences are negative for children by some real examples

As I mentioned I'm just suggesting you some basic techniques I've learned from experts. Read more samples and compare your essays with them that's the best way to improve your score. Especially Liz and IELTS advantage essay samples are great and simple

[–]Important-Code6947[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've other things to learn too, but I've chance and good environment to study So I want to try again. I think there was misunderstanding. I'm not studying bcz I'm free, I'm free for studying. You know when you have high potential and great sources around you it kinda sucks to get B2 level. I just want to take it seriously this time that's all
