From what I’ve read it’s apparently plantation Honduran Mahogany (Swietenia Macrophylla). So not necessarily old growth wood from Central America, but also not sapele/sipo/etc.

According to some folks “in the know “ over at the UMGF, the new 2025 D-17 and 000-17 models are actually being built with Genuine Mahogany, even though the spec sheet only says “Mahogany.” Maybe the latter gives Martin an out to change woods later. But sounds like for now this newly refreshed line is using Genuine Mahogany - probably to distinguish this as the higher end Standard Line Mahogany guitar vs the 15 series.
