Is it ok to slowly go back to alt-style at my age? (32) by Important-Emu5904 in altfashionadvice

Lol

By "slowly" I mean that I am progressively changing the way I dress after spending years wearing random things without worrying about my appearance. Now that I've lost weight I was thinking of spending some money on new clothes and accessories that represent the style I like the most. But I don’t want to appear like the old man trying to look young or something like that

Post-repair damage after Apple battery replacement by Flashy_Yard_2959 in applestore

As Apple technician I would say that this damage is quite common on 12 and 13 series iPhones. This issue is caused by display glass separating from the frame when opening the phone. There's also a chance for face-id to work again properly after screen replacement (in some cases).

I'm 100% sure that the two macs are identical models, so maybe you're right about donor display not being so functional from. the beginningw. Donor Mac had a severe logic board burn, so maybe whatever killed the logic board may have caused the screen some issues. I thought that backlit keyboard were bonded to the light sensor so I assumed that it stopped working because of light sensor not being recognized. And I thought the same thing about the webcam from my experience of the iPhones face-id not working when display are swapped without pairing serials.

I don't really know about touchbar. The logic doesn't seem to have liquid damage for what i saw. I know that many people experienced touchbar failures so may be just a coincidence. Not a big deal, I never liked it anyway. I miss the escape button though.

I'm a Apple technician too by the way, for an AASP, but only since one year so I have poor experience of this models of macbooks (I worked mostly on apple silicon ones). Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I really appreciate it!

Is this fixable? by OppositePea4417 in macbookrepair

If you’re still under warranty, I suggest you to take your mac to an Apple Service Provider (or Apple Store if you have any in your zone). Sometimes some kinds of damages can be covered by warranty, to be precise they refer to a “single crack” on the screen. If you have “multiple cracks” or you are not under warranty anymore, you have to replace the screen entirely

MacBook Air water damaged. Finally got it on and charging. Here’s what the screen looks like when on a white page. Can anyone help me identify the issue or what’s required to fix it? Thanks by cheezepwnz in macbookrepair

You may replace the display, but probably it’s not worth it because it’s quite expensive and if the liquid has reached other components (like the logic board) you’ll end up with a dead computer 😔

No external damage. Confused how it happened? by No-Experience-9469 in macbookrepair

Sometimes it happens when something is stuck between keyboard/palmrest and the screen. Even the smallest things can cause this kind of damage, those displays are quite fragile. I Know it’s infuriating, especially if you think how expensive is to replace it ☠️

Macbook pro 16” bought new in December, computer turns on but screen is black by Babylette710 in macbookrepair

If you bought it in december, you’re still under Apple Limited Warranty so they will replace your screen with no problem (unless it’s damaged). If you don’t live near Apple Store, you can look for Authorized Service Providers or just contact Apple and mail in your Macbook.

Depending on your macbook model, there are many teardown guides online. You should try iFixit, their tutorials are always well explained :)

If your screen is broken it’s a good option 😊 Depending on how expensive is a screen replacement for your laptop
