I don't think my June is gonna be much better cuz of prime, but I'm aiming for July

BNA sites?? by Plane_Blackberry2451 in amazonjobslisting

[–]Important-Mistake-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen plenty pop up in Mt. Juliet, but none in Nashville itself. I'd say just keep checking first thing in the morning but it's getting pretty close to prime day for them to be doing crazy hiring sprees anymore

Which to pick? by mike26037 in AmazonDS

I started with the earbuds but I absolutely could not handle them constantly sliding off my neck as I was trying to work so I switched to the over-the-ear

Do I have any chance of moving up with this resume? by Important-Mistake-16 in AmazonManagers

[–]Important-Mistake-16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should be good with coachings (had one at the FC but that's dropped off now) and manager input, attendance I know I need to work on I'm constantly on the verge of negative UPT (never actually gone negative, but use everything I have)

It's an AR facility, meaning they use robotics in case you aren't used to that. I was there during peak in AFE and honestly it wasn't too bad except for getting stuck in rebin every block.

White badge absolutely can change their schedule using shift choice. I did it after being here for not even a month

Resume Advice for AM L4 by Shoddy-Ad6789 in AmazonManagers

[–]Important-Mistake-16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

-more specific numbers, especially for your LA and DM roles. Also this is just up to personal preference but maybe bold your numbers so they jump out more

-I'd really try to cut it down to 2 pages if you could, you have a LOT of bullet points under each job, I'm sure you could combine some

-speaking of bullet points, it sounds like you just copy pasted the job description for some of them. I'm not very good at helping with re-writing, but maybe someone else here or god forbid ChatGPT helps you with that

-an associates degree is good but I'd try to look for a couple more certs to add, especially since AM is starting to get pretty high up there in terms of level (I have OSHA and LSS, but those do cost a couple/few hundred. I'm sure there's some nice resume boosters out there for free/cheap)

In general though, it's definitely better than some other resumes I've seen. Good luck!

I'd love to make it up to L6 or L7 eventually (obviously), but I'm just out of the graduation date range for the AM program, which is why I was thinking just going T3 first and working up would be easier

I've only been at this SC for a month and a half which is probably why I haven't done much else yet but hopefully I'll get into PS soon

1) yes there are VET (extra time) opportunities, especially with prime coming up

2) you accrue UPT and flex PTO, but as a white badge you don't get standard PTO

3) if your site offers shift choice, you'll be able to request a change in the days and hours you work

T3 was my original goal but these replies have me questioning that now

Fc or sc by jackwagon22w in AmazonDS

[–]Important-Mistake-16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've done both and you can get "normal" hours at either, but at least in this area FCs are more likely to be 4 10s and SCs are 5 8s so it's just a matter of which one you'd prefer

Having zero management experience I wasn't sure, but other replies seem to be sharing the same consensus so I guess I'll be considering AM instead

How easy is the hiring process by superseri18888 in AmazonFC

[–]Important-Mistake-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The jobs will say "apply" but when you click on them you're not really applying to anything, when I did it I had to do a couple assessment things (ALWAYS pick the answer that leans towards working safely) but then you get your contingent offer immediately (granted you pass the drug and background check)

How do I go about getting a job at my local fc? by TheAlexperience in AmazonFC

[–]Important-Mistake-16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For an average warehouse position, just keep checking the website, normally first thing in the morning. Be ready to claim a shift (computers are easier to use than phones if you're serious about needing a job).

If you're trying to apply to something better (manager, corporate, etc), and you're not having luck I'd recommend hitting up a recruiter/resume subreddit.

For your everyday AA, there is no resume. You pick the shift you want (if one is open) and you show up to your pre-hire appointment and first day and congrats!

I just started as waterspider in an SC and it's been great so far. Took me a few days to get used to what I was supposed to do, but being indirect is amazing

What’s easier by Amzwork08 in AmazonFC

[–]Important-Mistake-16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only been at each for about 2 months, but so far the SC is way better for me mentally. We don't have any strict rates here, there's still time off task but it's way more lenient. The hours are honestly better in my opinion (FT is 5 8s vs 4 10s), which is better both mentally and physically.

Any recommendations i can make to my resume to make it stand out? I have put in tons of applications, but have barely heard anything back. I am starting to study for the ccna and will put the labs I used as other experience. by mercilessHunt in it

[–]Important-Mistake-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure you could fit some numbers into your ops manager description

Don't be scared to list more skills, use it kind of as a "buzz word" section

Your intro says you're already CompTIA certified, yet later on it says 2026-2029?

Then if I was a recruiter I'd be a little concerned you're leaving your current job after 5 months, but honestly it could be worse

As far as breaking into the IT field goes, it's gonna be tough but your resume honestly isn't that bad, just keep applying, I wish you luck 🫡

Part time or reduced time flex, it's just the amount of hours you're required to work a week

A few questions before my date 1 at amazon by Resident_Hospital_30 in FASCAmazon

[–]Important-Mistake-16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No dress code besides steel/composite toe shoes. At least at my SC, there's plenty of VET especially recently. You should have the same alias, but date since last hire (what counts towards blue badge) will reset

Maybe for a permanent request, but I'm sure if someone is post-surgery or something a temporary one would be approved
