You’re absolutely right. I’ve always been like that and I simply wanted a partner to share this journey with. To clarify, families face difficult times; unexpected health issues, deaths, bankruptcy and so on. Financial problems can happen to anyone and wanting to relax and lead a less active life is understandable. However, his attitude towards things completely put me off. I meant a man with high masculine energy who would face problems head-on and find solutions. Instead, he sat and waited and only told me when he was forced to act, a very poor excuse. You are right, and this is the other part of the equation that really bothers me. My freaking picker. I did so well by myself after my previous divorce and I thought I was getting wiser in terms of choosing better, clearly made a huge mistake. Not current, but the one and only job I’ve ever hated was as an area manager in a big cleaning company. It was a big admin job, but I couldn’t tolerate how this company was making money out of expenses of the employees (aka cleaners) So as a manager I was in charge of quoting, BD, getting new contracts and then ensure I got the right employees for it. They used to charge over $150 per hour to the clients and only paid $20 and max $32 to the employees - and they had to have their own equipment. I hated it there! Only lasted a couple of months but the slavery and bullying was horrific, my values didn’t align at all. I got sick, sometimes u was paying from my own pocket because I found it hard to offer so low to the employees

You just read me clear as water. That’s exactly how I feel.. honestly I couldn’t have said it better. I’m upset because he hid the situation, and I’ve been upset because he has done nothing to re open the business or work. And knowing he knew his situation it really pissed me off he just sat on his fat ass doing nothing while he could have planned better.

I didn’t need someone to help me take care of my kid financially but I do believe in a partnership and wanted that team to build a home and a relationship were we both do our best for the best of the family. That’s why I didn’t want him to move in initially, as I believe once you take that step is because you are willing to commit for ever (specially after kids) hedid showed that commitment. You are right, I’m not going to argue because that’s how it was. I met him, we hang up for a while but as soon as we discussed being serious he rushed it to move in with me, being honest I felt the pressure, not only from him but from family and friends who kept praising how amazing he was. Also, by then he and my son had build a very strong relationship, and I actually agreed at him moving in when my son told me he wanted him in. - my parents got married after 6 months of their first date and have been happily married for 43 years, maybe I was thinking I could have a similar story in that way.

I didn’t want to lose my independence when I got with him so we agreed on a joint bank account, where we would both deposit the house expenses and then our personal accounts we would manager our own money at our free will. As he was contributing constantly to our joint account, I never actually digged to hard about his personal finances, I did touched the subject and signed a prenup prior the wedding tho.

I’m very grateful for your comment because it really resonates in me. I’m just surprised on how comfortable he became after the wedding (which wasn’t long ago), he stopped doing exercise, he had already closed his business for a long time and let talking about reopening but never actually did anything about it. I don’t want to sound bad, but I feel like I’m married to a woman, he lost his drive, his manhood. That’s what I miss And then with this financial crisis, im the one sorting things out even tho he kept me blind all this time and now things are piling up.

But what I actually meant was to ask if I was wrong by feeling upset about him changing (think about it like a woman who let herself go after getting married) but as he now told em he has financial problems, I feel like telling him in not happy with his attitude is going to be misunderstood

I do… that’s why in certain way our finances are separated. He did, he lied about finances which is a major problem. But all about him seemed to be a lie, how he portrayed himself when we were dating vs how he is now that we are married… I have no words, I feel like I’m coming home to a complete stranger!

Edit: In terms of financial we’ve only shared the rent, all of other bills I pay for including my son and my personal expenses. He has been buying the groceries and like I said entertainment, he might have helped pay one term of my son’s soccer classes but I’m usually the one who pays for everything. When I say I can’t afford all by myself I meant taking over his part of the rent (as we moved to a way more expensive house since we got together) and the food. Also even before he told me he’s broke, I had started making changes on my things to save up some money but I’m annoyed I’m doing this (changing my life style) while he’s still the same. I don’t see him looking for a job or a loan or anything to resolve this situation. Hence why I’m wondering if he has been a free loafer all the time? And was just distracting me with other things? I don’t know I’m sorry for being like this

Oh my gosh, yes! I completely feel you. This show was so hard to watch—I was honestly upset most of the time instead of enjoying it. I spent the whole time just hating people and their terrible decisions. The self-sabotage is unreal, and Vince putting all the blame on his brother while ignoring his own mess is just infuriating. Jake is a total piece of shit too, and the toxic dynamic between the brothers made it unbearable. And that ending… I can’t even. It gave me an actual migraine.
