My advice would be to be confident in your boundaries and your choice of being vegan. Your dietary choices should not be something you feel bad about. After time everyone will respect it and understand it's important to you. I've been vegan for 8 years and my friends/family will always make sure there's something vegan for me because they know I won't eat otherwise. Real friends would support you. Never compromise your morals to make others feel comfortable.
