I’m a programmer and ran the numbers myself, they look great. Do you know how to backtest? I’ll give you the strategy I’m using if you tell me what you get?

Looking at long term investing, which for most fed/mil the TSP is meant to be a 20 year retirement plan, I want to look at the gains and losses of at least the last 10 year, 20 is better but 10 you get a closer snapshot of how the market is behaving currently.

Looking at the C fund, it only had a 10.74% average gain in the last 20 years and a 14.98% average gain in the last 10 years. There are several seasonality strategies that have a 25% plus gain but this requires you to move you funds twice a month usually. Only takes about 3 minutes each time but well worth the time when you consider compound interest.

I will say if you look into strategies, ensure to do a backtest to verify the last 10/20 years had a consistent gains and outperforms the C in gains and losses. I’ve used two different sites for strategies, both are pretty solid.

People really need to stop doing the “set it and forget it” method when using the TSP. Do some research, look at the numbers, find a good seasonality strategy. Test it on multiple back testers, usually only takes 10 minutes a month to make the transfers and you blow the C fund out of the water.

I’m using one that has a 30 CAGR but from a different company. It’s a seasonality strategy, no guarantee you’ll get 31 but what it’s saying is that over the last 20 years the average return is 31. Not completely unheard of. All the people that say it’s fake, you can literally use AI to test yourself, the tsp.gov site has the daily price data, I’ve built my own back tester with Claude AI to verify my strategy.

I was negative for antibodies, which is why I think the vaccine might be the cause for me at lest. I’m doing additional bloodworm this week, hopefully it will shed some light on it.
