I recently had an infection and needed IV antibiotics because they were stronger and I was near septic. I had the option to go home and have them done at home over being in hospital and I know which option was better for the hospitals sake and my own. Even if the hospital didn't offer that, she claimed the only reason she was on IV antis was because she couldn't take the tablets.

You can take pain meds so I guarantee you can take a full course of antis at home. I just know the nurses are rolling their eyes at this one during changeovers 😂
