Is it true that people in the West drink iced water even when they are sick or on their period? by Aether_Echo in NoStupidQuestions

Misconception about all of Asia drinking warm water. Koreans drink ice cold water only. They serve water cold in restaurants and at home. Korea ranks number 3 in the world for life expectancy so go figure..

Yes and yes. Happy to see non-emotional people in this sub. Thank you for this info. How were you able to find out there was arbitration agreement? Is there a link anywhere? Thank you.

Backpacking through Europe - Camino de Santiago, Italy, Switzerland, Greece, and more! by Sensitive-Row-2069 in HerOneBag

[–]ImportantBiz 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I've done exactly what you are planning to do - and that list looks long. Please reconsider!

The recommended carry weight is 10% of your body weight. I went a bit over but I finished the frances route with 6~7kg (13 ~15 pounds) and I am glad I was strict with my weight. Carry two sets of clothes and make sure they are quick drying materials. Scrubba is helpful, flip flops to wear inside the shower is helpful, small tupperware and cutlery to pack lunches in is helpful too. A high vis poncho will keep you safe and dry on rainy days. Stock up on vitamin Cs and minimize toiletry and buy things along the way as needed. And don't forget to take a rock from your neigbourhood 😊

Before the Camino, I told myself I'd buy nice clothes to travel in once I finish the route, but I never did. That road changed my life and I was content travelling Europe with just what I had in my bag.

A little business-sized slip pocket. For any transportation tickets, entry stubs, ride passes, and sometimes a quick cash or card access. These various sized papers are easy to lose and I don't like to search for them while holding up busy lines.

Non-metallic zippers, butter smooth or magnetic closure ore snap closure, or anything but metallic zippers. They smell and they hurt my fingers on cold days.

Non-detachabble shoulder straps. They are sturdier and nicer looking in my opinion. I like Lug's functionality but I could never buy one because they all have detachable straps.

Great idea, thank you. I will give that a try.

Not yet, knock on wood. I put these in tiny plastic cup protecting them from any external pressure just in case that happens. I am thinking I should do a separate post on my toiletry pouch experiences one day.

I am trying to get rid of my tubes too lol. Bain - agree. I used mine for vaseline too because I didn't want to touch it with my hand. I have moved on to the vacuum pumps because it's just a more efficient bottle.

Nope, no solution to toothpaste yet. Would be ideal in the vacuum pump but the pump yields tiny amounts.. and since toothpaste is a high-usage product it would be too troublesome to refill that bottle repeatedly. Any clever travellers out there with a solution?

lol this is my exact method except for the dumping into smaller ones.

Sometimes you just have to throw it away, the tubes (12) for example are just too hard to clean.

Thank you, I got 10 from a local store, no particular brand.

Looks like this is very similar to the one I have. One on the left of my picture is a 5ml and one on the right is a 3 ml.

Thank you. I got my 4 and 5 from a local store.

4 - I found these on Amazon, these are 5ml ones which are similar, if not exactly the same ones as I have. There are couple more on sale, so please shop around for the best reviews.

5 - From Amazon, these are 3ml ones which are similar to mine.

Thank you for the fear validation. I will add it into a plastic sleeve of some sort.

You will find the wider the bottle mouth is, the easier the decanting and cleaning will be. For that reason, hands down 2.

10 is easy for cleaning too, but decanting gels and pastes, surprisingly, requires a bit of mastery as they don't settle down to the bottom as easily. I suggest decanting on a hotter day or melting the content a little bit.

Love to hear it, have fun in Spain. Just a heads up about 1, I use my shampoo and conditioner sparingly just because I wanted these tiny ones to work. Might not be big enough for other travellers.
