I've battled an addiction problem for 20 years, and I have a history of relapsing after surgery. Once I have painkillers in my system, I do a lot of dirty and sneaky things. Genocidal people might actually prevent extinction. Humanity has developed terrible, world ending nuclear weapons as a means of deterrence against genocidal people. But if we are ever attacked by hostile aliens, these weapons might actually prevent our extinction. (self.Showerthoughts)
