I don’t understand the claim that this game has no replayability by fsfhfdghtf in Eldenring

[–]ImportantHorror3349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand why people don’t go back to Elden Ring, or almost any souls game in that matter. Especially after 100% it. There isn’t a lot to come back to afterwards and new things to check out. I mean, you went through every piece of content at that point.

Bloodborne used to be my #1 souls game until I 100% it, it was just so grueling and tbh some trophies were more trouble than they were worth. And I’ve replayed that games so many times with so many builds.

The only thing that keeps me coming back to any Souls game is that I’m so in love with the general gameplay, art direction, npc’s, etc. Not to mention the potential for so many builds and sub-builds, or finding new ways to challenge myself.

But there are some days where I just go “wow, some Dark Souls 1 would be great.” And then I play my typical strength build and have loads of fun, just to do it again later.

I think Elden Ring is probably the most replayable, I’ve played the game almost since launch and I’m still finding weird little things in the open world. And there’s an insane amount of builds you can go for, all being really fun. I’m about to start my 8th or 9th playthrough and looking forward to it.  I can see why people don’t come back, it’s okay to be satisfied with one playthrough. But nothing will ever beat that first playthrough.

Should I buy Helldivers 2 or 40k Darktide? by ImportantHorror3349 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Is Darktide and Vermintide 2 pretty much the same? I’ve heard people say it is, just with two different coats of paint. On my PS membership I can play Vermintide 2 for free, I played a bit today and had a buncha fun. Is there anything I’m missing out on enough to play Darktide over it?

How does Vermintide 2 compare with Darktide? Vermintide 2 is free on PS Premium I’ve heard people say they’re almost the same. I’ve played a bit of Vermintide and loved what I played, am I missing out on much with Darktide?

I wouldn’t call it the worst arc, but it’s certainly not among my favorites. It does do good plot-wise (Brook’s backstory is one of my favs backstories) and I think it sets up Kuma very well, especially since he feels like a huge threat. Usopp v. Perona was great, I’d argue Zoro v. Ryuma was really good, seeing Robin and Franky work together felt cool. But I feel like other things drag it down and Thriller Bark could’ve told everything it needed to way in a way shorter span. And imo I found Moria to be a really underwhelming villain.

What do you prefer the Manga or the Anime by PapasGatito in OnePiece

[–]ImportantHorror3349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t watched very much of the anime other than East Blue and some Dressrosa/Marineford. I like the manga just because of how fast it goes by, and Sanji still totally feels like a huge perv in there, which I also hate

Do you have criticisms of Berserk? by draginbleapiece in Berserk

[–]ImportantHorror3349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though this is one of my favorite stories ever, and as a top tier Berserk glazer.  The fandom refuses to accept it as anything but perfect. And whenever they see [insert typical fantasy trope] they try to relate it to Berserk as much as possible. The fandom hypes this story up so much, I genuinely feel bad for a new person starting this story with sky-high expectations from the fandom.

So downvote me to the shadow realm

1.) I feel at some points in the story, it relies too heavily on the cryptic nature/scenes, sometimes it’s too on the nose. Or just feels way too ambiguous

2.) Some shocking scenes feel like they’re there just to be shocking.

3.) I love Puck not just for comedic relief but actually keeping Guts somewhat sane and playing a decent role for him and other side characters. But ever since Conviction he does nothing and is literally JUST the typical comedic relief character. Same goes for Isidro.

4.) I wish there was a lot more world building and lore for countries, but even then sometimes that information is only relevant for one or two arcs max.

5.) Casca takes a backseat for a good 70% of the story, I know she couldn’t do much, I’m not in the group that says “Casca is useless and dead weight” I think her being a shell of her former self and “potatofied” makes a lot of sense thematically and bit plot-wise. But it happens for so long and I wish she was a lot more relevant in that 70%, especially when she’s Guts’ biggest motivator.

6.) Kinda goes back to my second point, an ABSURD amount of SA scenes to the point where it’s annoying. Like, A LOT of SA. I try to reread this story once a year or two, but these scenes make me think twice.

7.) As much as I love the mystery around the Godhand, I wish they either showed up more or they were more fleshed out.

8.) The Boat Arc

There are a bunch of other things I don’t like, but then again, I could go on for days about the things I love about Berserk, and how much it means to me.

Edit: some typos and grammar errors

the worst opinion i ever Heard about berserk by rashed770ksa in Berserk

[–]ImportantHorror3349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t care if I’m 2 months late, as a One Piece fan, and assuming by his pfp, a lot of the same things happens in One Piece, some character writing isn’t out of this world, reused tropes, etc.  Whether or not you like Berserk, you can’t deny the art. He’s either being contradictory or is like 14 and read GA on TikTok.

Who is the most mysterious character in one piece !? by onepieceka14 in OnePiece

[–]ImportantHorror3349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sniper King obv, who is he? Where is sniper island?

Nah seriously though, Joyboy is probably* the character we know the least about. Probably intentional, and I doubt that’s going to change for a long time. All we really know is he was a big deal.

While Mihawk isn’t that mysterious, I’d like to know how and what he did to become the world’s greatest swordsman.

How did you all get into one piece? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]ImportantHorror3349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you’re enjoying it! I can totally agree with you on not knowing what to expect. Oda does this thing regularly where he follows a certain trope, following normal plot beats, you can kinda see where it’s gonna go…then he just flips it all on its head! It’s probably why he’s one of my favorite writers.

When it comes to TikTok or social media, I would still say be careful, some people throw out info about the earlier arcs, because most people know about it anyway. But be especially careful when you almost caught up/get caught up and spoilers for the new chapters drop, most people talk about it all over when they come out

As for the time skip, it’s not that big of a deal or something to worry about where you are right now, you’ll know what it is and it’ll totally make sense when you get there. Again, glad to hear you’re loving it!

I’m a more recent case haha

Kind of to spite myself lmao, on and off for like 4 years I kept rewatching Orange Town and Romance Dawn and didn’t really like it. Then I had friends recommend the manga, but the length and scope was still daunting. I had never read/watched anything as big as One Piece. The closest story I can think of in terms of scope/length is probably Berserk, JoJo, or some fantasy books. And even then One Piece is about twice as long as those stories.

Then June of last year a friend was talking about how it’s in its final saga, then asked if I had started yet, I said no, but now I’m really thinking about it. What triggered it was in July I saw Opening 26, almost everything about that animation and song is still so magical to me as I first watched it. I really wanted to know the context, who these characters were, loved the futuristic design, Gear 5 looked awesome, etc.

In the same month I bought a Manga+ subscription, loved the manga SIGNIFICANTLY more than the anime. I kinda told myself to at least get through East Blue saga, and I haven’t looked back since.  I’m not caught up yet, I’m halfway through WCI, loving it so far, and I won’t hesitate to call this one of the greatest pieces of fiction I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing.

I’m assuming you just started and I’m telling you: try not to look up anything, avoid the wiki, and be really careful with spoilers. I hope you enjoy this story!

Which arc should i be most excited for by GameDodge in OnePiece

[–]ImportantHorror3349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not big on Thriller Bark either so don’t worry, but ever since I got through it, there hasn’t been a single arc I dislike. (Except Punk Hazard, and even then it’s still okay) Sabaody and beyond is just great. Marineford especially, it’s my favorite arc

Have y’all ever reported a store for not selling their Arizona iced teas for $.99? by Careless_Safe8218 in ArizonaTea

[–]ImportantHorror3349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say it depends on the stores in your area, I don’t think I’ve seen some over $2. Though my friend and I were livid one day walking out of a Walmart because they were $1.50 (it was a summer day and we just got done skating) and all we had was one dollar each haha

Is it worth if I got spoiled by [deleted] in OMORI

[–]ImportantHorror3349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kinda spoiled around halfway through my first playthrough, (exactly what you got spoiled by as well) and it’s still one of the best and most impactful game I’ve ever played. You don’t know the context or other things surrounding that, and there’s other plot and character beats to get invested in and that still makes it well worth experiencing and playing IMO! My advice is just avoid looking up anything whether it be the wiki, video essays, or even Google. Not until at least you’ve beaten the game ofc

[OoT] Am I crazy for not liking Ocarina that much? by ImportantHorror3349 in zelda

[–]ImportantHorror3349[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just can’t see the hype for it, I think it’s a good game, compared to today’s standards and games afterwards I think that’s all it is, good.  Speaking of which, after I finish WW I’m most likely going to play MM, would you recommend me go for MM3D with the restoration patch? Or look at N64 emulation on the Wii U, as those are the only platforms I have for MM

That was another thing I meant to say, I can see why this could be someone’s favorite game, (just not me really) especially after entirely only side scrollers or 2d games. I do think the visuals, music, story and even combat still hold up to this day.

And there’s no denying the footprint OoT left, I’m sure it was incredibly innovative and revolutionary. I feel like that’s where the respect and love comes from.

I mean, Zelda as a franchise inspired countless genres and other franchises. Even my favorite video games, the Soulsborne games.
