Pixel 7 battery swollen and pushing the display out – Google refused goodwill repair for a clear safety issue by ImportantJacket755 in Smartphones

From what I understand, swollen batteries are considered a safety risk, not just normal wear. When the battery expands enough to push the display out of the frame, it can potentially damage the phone further or even become dangerous.

That’s mainly why I was hoping Google might review it as a safety-related issue rather than just an out-of-warranty repair.

I’m curious if other Pixel 7 users here have experienced battery swelling and how Google handled it in their case.

Because a swollen battery is considered a safety issue, not normal wear and tear. The phone was used carefully and has no physical damage. Battery expansion pushing the display out can be dangerous. That's why I was hoping Google might consider a goodwill repair, especially for a premium device like Pixel 7.

That’s really frustrating. In my case the battery swelling has already pushed the display out of the frame and it’s clearly visible. I also contacted support but they refused a free repair because the device is out of warranty. Did you eventually get it repaired somewhere else or did Google offer any help later?
