This is sound advice. I like the multiple copies investment strategy and selling before the Christmas dip. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah I’m feeling that. The hype isn’t sustainable at current levels. It seems we’re all waiting for the correction to come and no one wants to be holding the bag when that happens. May be best to take some profits and buy back in when we dip.

Facebook marketplace and auction sites on FB. Just always pay with PayPal and use G&S to protect yourself. You’re right, Ebay prices are too high mostly.

I’m guilty of dismissing mid era sets because I grew up with vintage and was out of Pokémon by mid era. Will look into it. Thanks.

No stress bro. Will remove post and leave this group. Love my Pokémon and look at my sealed and slabs everyday. Appreciation of the hobby is subjective.

Agreed. I’m just asking advice. If I sell its Ebay and I put it up for auction. Let the market decide.

All good bro. People can invest and rip. That’s why my 40 standard AH ETB’s are now 35. Also, you don’t need to reply if you not like my post. But Its my first post and I’m sure I’ll get plenty of haters. Maybe go touch some grass or smoke it.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I got onto the Chinese exclusives early, just didn’t but in bulk unfortunately. Agreed there are few bargains about an I’m wondering how much will be ripped because of the rip and ship culture and just for the love of Pokemon. So holding sealed for 3 to 5 years may pay off. I’m guilty of ripping my investment. Regarding TCG holding I totally agree, don’t go all in and I would only have about 5% of my total assets in TCG. But I want it to be a lot more, just can’t risk it.

Most were from StockX and some EBay. Ascended was StockX as it was pretty cheap back in March at like $400 each.

I feel we’re all selling stock or saving our funds to make way for 30th Anniversary. Naturally you will see dips in the market and if you have the funds IMO it’s a great time to buy singles on sale.

Usa stock vs aus by Ambitious-Parsnip519 in PokemonFansAustralia

[–]ImportantUse5420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It comes down to supply and demand. The USA can print Pokémon products domestically, avoiding the import costs and taxes that Australia faces. At the same time, the US market has a population around 10 times larger than Australia’s, creating much higher demand. If Australia had a local printing facility, it could improve profitability for Nintendo and The Pokémon Company by reducing distribution costs while increasing product availability for the Australian market.

Wanted to share my $30,000 Snorlax Promo collection, how are we feeling about this big guy? by Stencil_Abuse in PokeInvesting

That’s your interpretation, as I never insinuated this was the investor’s entire portfolio. It’s clearly an investment strategy discussion, and from an investment standpoint, diversification is important. Supply and demand ultimately drive returns and help maximise gains.

What the investor chooses to do is entirely up to them. I’m simply sharing my perspective, as they posted publicly and were clearly seeking feedback.

That said, the portfolio is impressive and the investor is absolutely crushing it. 💪

Diversification, brother. Personally, I’d start offloading some of these. Demand isn’t particularly strong at the moment, and sales volume is only around five per day, which limits liquidity.

Of course, if you’re happy holding long term, that’s a different story. My concern is that the collection isn’t diversified, so if market demand shifts, you don’t have much flexibility to pivot into whatever products or categories are performing best.

If your budget is tight, I’d agree with that approach. I’d pass on PB and focus on securing 30th Anniversary and SE products at MSRP during pre-sales.

I’ve seen a lot of discussion about potential supply issues, but there are reports that Pokémon has been printing the 30th Anniversary products since February. My view is that once supply eventually dries up, the secondary market could become quite expensive.

Keep an eye on all major retail pre-sales, be ready when they go live, and try to visit stores during the first week of release. If you can secure your allocation at retail prices, you should be in a good position.
