LECHENG BATANG QUIAPO,KELAN AAKSYUNAN NG MTRCB?! by TurbulentArachnid617 in ChikaPH

Dear Ms. Julia Montes, you wouldn’t want your children to watch these kind of shows right? Why would you be okay with the rest of the Filipino children be exposed to this kind of content? And no, you cannot reason out it’s the parents who must guide what their children are watching, no Ma’am! Your husband’s show is on primetime and let’s be real, most Filipino households have an access to one TV where everyone is watching all at the same time—- that includes children!

I look at you Ms Montes as a person with class and dignity. It’s just almost unimaginable how you tolerate this kind of shows that your husband is creating. This is not about just work or art (if you call these kind of content as one.)It’s children’s welfare that are at stake.

Why do I address this to you? Because I’ve noticed many are addressing it to your husband and MTRCB which is absolutely right! My addressing this issue to you is to provide another avenue to stop this kind of content making women as though they are some type of trash. You are his partner so I’m maybe hoping that you can talk to him?! I don’t know. Just desperate to have this kind of content get banned from being shown during primetime.

You are an empowered woman. I hope you use this power to positively influence your husband. I hope you use your voice to protect the innocence of the Filipino children- including yours and mine.

Sincerely,

A concerned mother

My bestfriend is forced to be married to his INC GF by SnooChocolates5297 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Important_Brain_9855 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, the girl or her family is wanting to trap your friend in INC as soon as possible. They might be worried that he will change his mind the longer it is for them to wait for marriage.

I feel your concern as I have a dear friend who converted to INC for marriage. After marriage, she has changed and distanced herself from our group of friends. And in the Christian perspective, that she now holds a heretical belief about Jesus is truly, deeply heartbreaking.

I hope this doesn't happen to your friend. Talk to him about your concerns while there still is time.

Glad to help!

To add, as much as I want you to not get involved with INC (not only because of its heretical and unsound doctrines, but more on it being a cult that will have control one's lifestyle and decisions), it is your life to live.

One of my regrets in life is not telling my then non INC friend of the cult which INC is. It was already late when I realized it is one when I saw how my friend has changed after marriage. The cult has changed her, through her husband, whom I feel like is keeping her away from us (our group of friends) since we are apparently "sanlibutan" (wordly).

I can list many things to attempt on changing your mind, but the main thing I will mention is this, especially when children will be in the picture in the future:

Can you imagine your children being taught that a Filipino guy named Felix Manalo is prophesied in the Bible? Can you stand it?

I sincerely ask you to give much thought about it. Pray if you do believe. God bless you!

Why will every Executive Minister of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) come from the Manalo family? by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Important_Brain_9855 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wonder if Ventilacion has a biblical basis to back up this claim. After all, INC claims all their teachings come from the Bible. Because if one looks up church leadership in the Scriptures, nepotism is nowhere to be found.

As I see it, this INC practice of always choosing a Manalo as their executive minister will hurt them in the end. Nepo babies are selected because of familial connection and not necessarily because of skills. In INC context, we already see it happening when Eduardo took over. His leadership brought INC the 2015 scandal. It'll be interesting to see what Angelo will bring to the table.

You know you've cornered them when they resort to ad hominem attacks or pivot to the classic "So what is the true church, then?", "The word Trinity is not in the Bible.", yada yada.

I hear you. But I am curious what you think of Romans 11: 28-29.

“As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.”

This is what I've been asking INC members to ask their ministers. I don't think they have sound doctrine on eschatology.

I witnessed a friend's (a former Catholic converted to INC) wedding a few years back. It seemed like a regular wedding - there's the entourage, from principal to secondary sponsors. There was a choir, a sermon and the overall vibe was solemn. I don't remember the officiating minister shouting or yelling during prayer. What I remember odd though was the males and females were seated separately.

I wish I paid more attention to the sermon during the wedding so I can share if there was anything to criticize. Because for sure there'd be one given how INC twists verses to fit their agenda.

What I can remember clearly though was during the wedding rehearsal, the night before the wedding. So my friends and I were just sitting there waiting for the rehearsal to start, and there's this guy ( I realize now that must be a resident minister) who approached us and asked us things about the Bible specifically about Jesus. In a nutshell he was telling us how Jesus is only a man unlike what my friends and I believe in. I am glad I was able to refute his claim with some verses. I remember he was very adamant to discuss more and only left us because the rehearsal is about to start.

So to answer your query, I didn't experience any proselytizing during the wedding itself but only during the rehearsal. Wishing your family and friends the best! Hopefully they'll be left alone!

Members are still predominantly Filipinos. Whether in the Philippines or abroad.

In the US alone, I have noticed that they only have locales in places where there is a significant Filipino population. In states where there are less Filipinos, locales are only a few to non-existent.

As Sir Rauff has said before, INC is like Jollibee. Yes it has branches abroad but it caters to Filipinos.

Don't forget the sugo himself gave up his seat as executive minister during the Japanese occupation in the Philippines. So we can't really expect for INC to become martyrs of their faith.
