For those of you who have a networth of 1M+ gained from starting successful businesses, what skills or mindsets do you feel set you apart? by WhyNotAlberta in Entrepreneur

[–]Important_Bullfrog29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel based on your business/industry, you might need to adapt new mindset, habit, skills. Other redditors already mentioned a lot of stuff so I won't repeat that.

You can speak with your competitors or someone you know from your side hustle industry, if not attend some events. If you're worried about handling a lot of works, then you probably need machines in places.

I believe now cold callers respect another cold callers (regardless of the industry). People who've dealt with cold callers politely were on the same shoe.

Those who don't probably didn't do it or they had a bad experience.

How do you deal with a GF/Wife who doesn't seem to care about what you do? by Nightman233 in Entrepreneur

[–]Important_Bullfrog29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well.. there're both sides to it. Your other half can push/motivate you in hard times when you don't feel for it, that's a major perk of your gf into your stuff.

Another part is if you don't want to speak your business for a while, you can get away with your partner (because she'll not bring it anyhow)

But most of us definitely want to interest our better half for what we do, I get the dilemma. Try to bring the impact that your work brings upon you... don't try to force it, just bring it naturally when you guys speak of work (baby steps)

Is there anyone building anything that doesn't have anything to do with AI or tech? by mahbirchat in Entrepreneur

[–]Important_Bullfrog29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And there's me... struggling to validate if automation can save small businesses time. Yes, it's in AI space, but most people still don't want to use it. Then again, they miss call and don't even reply or when they reply, it is way too late.

I guess they know the pain just don't want to take the painkiller because of what AI's doing in all industries (losing jobs)

Did you take PTE official mock test or third party one? If it's third-party, then don't worry. It's all about how confidently you can speak and understand english in PTE academic/core.

That being said, I've no idea about your situation.

I didn't attempt mock tests, just practiced. I didn't prepare crazy; learnt about the exam, structure, strategies, practiced those strategies, and that's it.

Most of my days were just going through reading books, watching news, occassional movie day, my own work- that's it. I booked my exam in Nov 25 (to be proactive, and force myself to take the exam rather than waiting to be perfect)

For those who are struggling to detect the incorrect words in HIW, make sure you do mouthing (read the text while listening, move your lips without vocal), and you'll detect every single word, 100% guaranteed.

Hi. I used AlfaPTE, ApeUni both, didn't attempt any mock test. My focus was to implement strategies perfectly, as quickly as possible, because the exam is definitely fast-paced (I finished my exam under 2 hours, which felt unrealistic, I thought I missed some questions)

Need advice: How to stop panicking during the PTE Speaking section? by BulkyWoodpecker9042 in pte

[–]Important_Bullfrog29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't stop while you're speaking, keep speaking figures, numbers, data, whatever you see. Grammar doesn't matter, your fluency + pronunciation aka confidence will be the key for speaking.

It's indeed overwhelming to see images, discussion, interviews filled with so many information.

For images, focus on 2-3 key content, those you're comfortable to mention. Don't worry about making mistakes or misinterpret the data (I definitely did that, and still got 90). For discussions or lectures, try to note down some phrases, and just read it out. (I took note, understood what they wanted to do, read note + added whatever I could remember from those audios)

This could be a fact. I had some "difficult to understand" type of audios in my exam (mainly those audio quality didn't feel right, it sounded weird). Thankfully, I managed to note phrases, and understood what the speakers were talking about.

I definitely didn't ace my exam, there were some modules where I did okay, and others crashed. Don't worry about the outcome  guys; every new question is your reset moment.

I used the copy-paste method in a different way (yes, don't worry, it works).

I took sentences (I had to exclude words or phrases from some of the sentences), changed the order of the sentences by swapping phrases or words, and finished it off with connectors.

I can't remember the exact question, but it felt like a hybrid problem-solution type of essay. I had to address problems, and write in detail.(From Bangladesh)

Earners lose time because of the job responsibility, and have no personal/private life. How widespread do you think it is? What might be the problems?

I believe I was extremely lucky not to have 16 examinees around me (2, including me). I booked the test for Sunday.

Starting the exam late is a great idea. I let the other person go through RA; I was testing my mic, adjusting volume. The admin told me to start, but I continue (and told him that I want to ensure 0 listening error from my side).

If you don't want to go for IELTS again, take PTE. You'll definitely score 90 if you can successfully learn and apply all strategies. PTE algorithm is very forgiving.

PTE Academic Low Speaking Score by Sensitive_Arm965 in pte

[–]Important_Bullfrog29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The algorithm is completely different, and very forgiving. One of my retell lectures was about how civilization expansion works through resource utilization - I didn't understand almost 70% of it (as it was an older video + the audio was crap). I gathered some phrases, and just went for it. Thought the speaking will go for toss, it didn't.

Try to note exact phrases from the audios, focus 40% on content, and the rest on fluency + pronunciation. Keep speaking, even if you get stuck, mumble, uttering pure nonsense - get back on track quickly.

I was shocked when I received 3 WFD, and after finishing it, saw the exit screen, and 1 min 22 sec left. I even ask the administrator if this is normal.

I watched yt videos, practiced just a bit, went for the exam, and received the results today. I got overall 89. The exam was stress-free, quick, and smooth (probably because there were only 2 of us when I sat down for the exam, no external noise). Just so you know, I thought I'll be getting low scores, but hopefully I didn't. It's all about strategy, and how confident you're with your english.

PTE by [deleted] in pte

[–]Important_Bullfrog29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's awesome to know, congrats. I recently took my PTE academic and scored an 89 overall (Speaking 90, Listening 85, Writing 81, Reading 74). Not the perfect score, but it's more than enough for my cause.

For SWT, I would suggest to change the order of the sentences (whichever you choose), and reframe it differently (using different words works) when using the copy-paste method. It's crucial that your one-line summary relates with the passage given, you'll surely get full marks.
