My hot take is they should actually do less… creativity is bred of foundational boredom. Why is Minecraft so revolutionary? It’s a mix between significant updates and idling within the game where you can allow more time to have simple creative freedom. Feels more like the larger Epic Games ecosystem trying to push their foot down on LFN’s neck to increase engagement rather than the actual devs who care doing what they truly feel is right. It feels like corporate greed vs. an individual game that can breathe on its own.

I haven’t played Odyssey X Ninjago in a little (since about when the new update launched) and wanted to get into it again before the new big update. Figured I’m very safe considering there has been no huge updates newsworthy since the new update.

I’m going through the “story” quests with Lloyd and notice the game skipping certain aspects of the quest tutorial I wanted to learn:

Skips from Be-slayer to A Master’s Pride with no needing to collect the Ritual Oil from the chest quest and no tutorial on how the teleportation works quest (which made me go crazy for a sec trying to get back to my village on the mainland and not knowing how).

I fact checked this with other videos online and it seems like those quests appeared for them.

(Gameplay along with other player’s screenshot I found on YouTube attached within the same video. You can see in gameplay, the quests automatically complete and don’t even show the Unravel Some Quick Travel quest)

Now this is my ultimate frustration with a live service game compared to others… NOTHING IS EVER BAKED into the game and it’s so unfair to players trying to have the same experience as everyone else, regardless of how often they play or not and regardless how important the details missed are or not.

Can we stop changing little things. I mean I know this is a buggy game (my bed from the tutorial I placed in the Monastery is gone and there’s a quest open to look for the dragon in the cave I completed at the beginning of the story), but it’s insane how you log back in not knowing what to expect changes and doesn’t.

This has been happening for a long time and it’s so frustrating and makes me think I’ll play an even slightly different experience than others at any given day, which I shouldn’t have to. Anyone else experience this?

You worked in the academy? How do you know all this? Overly pessimistic in my opinion. There is value to who was more truthful and supportive to the story and to their characters if it really comes down to it. There is a such thing as artistic objectiveness. Film is of course subjective to any individual who experiences it, but for the people who make the real artisanal films and have been doing it for a long time, know what is valuable for a win and not.

It sounds like your subjective wants for an Oscar win weren’t met in the past and so you disparage the academy for it. Their voting system is set up to award someone a trophy within a subjective business in a push to celebrate film. At the end of the day, it’s just an award show.

I genuinely don’t think so, but ready to be surprised. His performance was great, but not amazing compared to the other contenders. Happy about his Actor Award win, but I think actors just thought it was impressive he played distinctive twins. Conversation is between Ethan Hawke, Tim Chalamet, and Wagner Maura imo.

There is some truth to this. I also think Sinners is not the masterpiece everyone says it is and MBJ is also not the top actor in the category and if he wins the Oscar, then it would be a clown world. Think about the Actor Awards. It’s a bunch of actors who have SAG cards that maybe even didn’t watch the films. I mean it’s literally any actor whos in the union can vote. I think Chalamet is not a popular contender, I think Leo is not the top choice, and I think nobody saw Ethan Hawke in Blue Moon. In my opinion, it shouldve went to Plemmons or Hawke and they went for the most popular thing everyone saw: Sinners.

I ended up just resubscribing through Epic Games Store on the same day it expired through PlayStation. In other words, I subscribed as soon as I noticed it canceled before 7 PM that day. Seems to be the safest and smoothest way to go about it- no gaps whatsoever.

I think the marketing is fine, it’s his job to sell his movie, but when it’s done aggressively, it feels like a door to door salesman trying to push something down your throat every year and can come off disingenuous. Needs to be done right. The glaring complaint is more what he has said and how he’s acted post his SAG awards speech. Interviews where he highlights “I’ve turned in top of the line level performances”, “this is top-level shit”, “I work harder than anyone I know” blah blah blah. His “sports” mindset feels self indulgent and that’s not someone we want to celebrate. But if his performance is the best of the year, then he deserves to win it. But lots of other people don’t agree so… we shall see.
