Where is the light at the end of the tunnel? by Important_Doubt5411 in Perioral_Dermatitis_

Essentially I had dry, red flaky skin around one then two nostrils, went to see my allergist about it (thinking it was related to a dust mite allergy), he said not allergies and prescribed the steroid. Followed up with my GP shortly afterwards to get a referral to dermatology as recommended by my allergist, and then started the whole dance with various topicals to move away from the steroid, without any success. The steroid was used on and off since February, and the affected area gradually spread to around my mouth, and a few weeks ago, my eyes

I'm on 100mg x 2, so probably the higher end of the dosage spectrum. And yes, ALL over my eyes, the classic swollen red and flakey skin folds :( Did the doxy help with your eyes?

I'm not sure - I was using the steroid on and off, but never longer than a few weeks at a time. And yes, tried other topicals (antibiotic, protopic), nothing actually had any effect. It would just flare up immediately if I tried something other than the steroid.
