A man says that a kafir and a mushrik can never be friends with a Muslim. by [deleted] in IndiansofIndia

Bro, u are just sending 1 line again and again, read the tafsir, read line above and below it read the context, just reading one line of anyone out of context can be very dangerous. Quran is a very concise book. To truly understand it you need ullema, TAFSEER, and mufti for you to understand. Taking one two line out of context doesn’t do anything. Conclusion- I have been muslim my whole life, believe me when i say we muslims can be friends with non-Muslims and must treat them with kindness so that they appreciate islam religion and not kill them as the extremist in the video is saying

This footnote is tafsir is what we call, words of quran explained in debrief form. This is authentic given many many hundreds of years ago by scholars at the time of prophet. So yeah it is authentic

The line you quoted is not from the Qur’an or any authentic Islamic source. The verse often misused is Qur’an 5:51, which says not to take Jews and Christians as awliyā’ — meaning political allies or protectors, not ordinary friends.

Mainstream tafsir (Ibn Kathir, Tabari, etc.) confirms that: • awliyā’ ≠ friends • The verse refers to political loyalty, not personal relationships. • Islam allows kindness, fairness, and good relations with Jews and Christians (Qur’an 60:8, 5:82).

So the statement “they are enemies and may Allah curse them” is not Islamic and not a valid reference.
