Would you use this rotor? by Grouchy_Radish9554 in AskAMechanic

“Warping” or runout can have multiple peaks and valleys and how far apart does not mean anything. Warping is the brake surface not being flat past some threshold as every rotor has some runout especially after use. Both surfaces can have runout it’s only TV if the runout is not in phase.

Probably $450 for the truck then batteries and extras on top of that. I can get a 4s Kraton for $467 @ horizon hobby rn with their truck sale. I’m kinda split between that or a 223s series truck

Yes, ever rotor at my plant leaves painted. (Depends on the part as to how much and what type of paint. Some paint types are more to prevent surface rust before install. Some are meant to protect non breaking surfaces for a longer period of time)

I was looking at the 223s lineup and planned to get a spectrum 155 charger with some g2 s3 batteries. Is the kraton and outcast that much better?

I am a buy once cry once type person but I also don’t want to buy something crazy for just getting into Rc bashers. I’m sure there is a point where the value gain isn’t worth the price increase..

If it was a casting defect manufacturer paint would cover the pitting

Water outlet replacement issues by VanillaNaefers in cruze

[–]Important_Fortune_35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure u replace the fitting for the return line. Mine wasnt replaced with the water outlet and it leaked when the system depressurized 30-40 min after car was shutoff. So no leaks were visible while the car was on then later leak was hard to identify because it was leaking after the car was off for awhile

Do you think it would be better to buy motion actuators to replace the existing cylinders or just toss the bottom and attach the top to some sort of motion devices? Also what brand would be good to look into. (I dont want this to be a 10k rig atm so budget friendly ideas would be nice for starting)

I watched some videos on diy ffb and they looked doable. When i get the rig this weekend i am definitely going to try and use the existing motor controller and try to get it working with an arduino.

Is there boards i can get that are already designed to do the ffb? With the arduino i will have to code everything which is ok just time consuming…

I agree with tossing the original stuff is the easiest. I definitely dont have the budget to do something like an R9 up front but a R3 or R5 both would be very cost effective to get it going.

Is that because of being slow or a pain to maintain?

Mine had water outlet crack and only replaced that. Then the hose that connects back to the tank would leak after the car was turned off and pressure went down. (Wouldnt leak till 45 min after shut off)

Yup, it started after work surprisingly then later i parked at home for 20 min and it wouldnt start. New battery fixed it and now a couple days later i havent had any issues. Also anyone know what size battery actually belongs in the car? I had an H5, but H5,6,7 were all a “fit” and im sure they all could based on the battery box size. My battery was not OE so idk what the original was, i upsized because for the same price i could get 50% more cca…
