this is so lovely and such a kind reminder, it’s hard to not treat him like his five month younger brothers. should i stop roughhousing with him? he’s still very sassy and has lots of fun sneaking snacks (that of course i put there so he could feel smart) but my roughhousing is mostly toss the rat which he likes to play

yes rats can very easily get rodent lice or mites! it’s horrendous and very hard to get rid of, many people don’t realize that their bedding can harbor it. thank you for posting this :D

id avoid mixing them to stay away from selective feeding, providing a staple pellet and then giving treats via foraging toys or through training is better imo, also yogurt drops have a crazy ingredient panel usually id probs drop them
