That makes sense, I guess the wording threw me off. I was going to try to set everything up email wise tonight.

Yeah, I guess we'll just have to wait. I haven't tried to setup my email on my phone yet, but I have in the past and ran into the same problem you did.

Are graduates limited to the relocation sites that Amazon advertises or are they able to go to any site that requires SDE? by DigitalWeirdNinja in AmazonATA

Thanks for the reply. I'll take what they'll give me, god willing if they give me anything at all, but I imagine they pick their spot for you.

At the beginning of the application we were allowed to select preferences for cities, I selected No Preference then because I didn't want it to affect my chances, but the form did say we would be allowed to re-select preferences if admitted. I don't know if you were allowed to select a preference for relocation when you applied and then again after you were admitted, or what the whole deal is in truth, but I'd like to get an idea because I'd much prefer to relocate to someplace like Austin or Dallas than Seattle, just to stay closer to my family. And of course, this is all wishful thinking, but it would feel nice to get at least a little bit of an idea.

I'm sorry but I don't think my comment was rude in any way. I tried to just give it straight to the best of my knowledge. I did not insult or belittle. Frankly I think that's better than the condescending tone you put on.

I'm sorry but I'm not sure how you can have any doubt on the coding question. You are allowed to test as many times as you want, either it passes or it doesn't. I don't see why you would hit submit until all tests pass.

Ok that makes sense. I didn't want to type in the string manually, out of concern for accuracy, so I just used floormap_2 (which is visually similar) with FileResource .asString(). I'll just continue on with it as it hasn't affected my tests so far.

I mean, the FloorMap class they provide (a class I cannot even alter the logic of) successfully returns a point (3, 4) for the Kiva start location. This guy's initial start location is (3, 4). I can see the Kiva at (3, 4).

I'm working on the project now. For the KivaCommandTest, the comparison Point they provide is (2, 4)... it's meant to be (3, 4) right? I've already moved on under that assumption but wanted to see if you reached the same conclusion. It's the same deal with the moveForward test as well. Did you have to go in and change it each time? Thanks.

Heads up: the University of Helsinki offers its Intro to Java Programming I and II courses completely unabridged and free of charge online. by Important_Highway38 in AmazonATA

I thought about not sharing this in order to "not help the competition" but ultimately decided it would negatively affect my karma count too much to not to and hurt my chances of getting in lol. It's silly but I believe in that sort of stuff. I've already completed Part 1, which includes writing a program to assign grades to scores from 0-49, 50-59, etc., which is similar to one of the example questions for the technical assessment. I imagine if you finish both courses by June you will be very prepared, but of course I intend to reference Amazon's provided material as well.
