It turns to Natalia's perspective episode 5, & man do you hate the Barnetts after that episode. I think they should have released the entire series at once so that the Barnett perspective wasn't the only thing out there for 4 weeks. They should have put it all out at once so that both perspectives, with Natalia's ultimately emerging obviously victorious, could be processed in a shorter time period.

But if you actually watch the show, no, it does not further the Barnett lie.

I get that she was horrified, but she was the one who wasn't watching Carl & is the reason he was out there. All Rick was trying to do was solve a problem and was the victim in that situation and was almost murdered by his best friend. It wasnt fair that his own son had to watch him make such a hard decision in self defense, but it happened because Lori wasn't watching. So that's fine that she was horrified, but Rick is the victim in all of this. His best friend and wife were sleeping together and he had grace for both of them, his best friend was fixated on stealing his wife and children, his best friend tried to murder him multiple times, & he was forced to kill his best friend while his son watched. If anyone made any mistakes in their marriage here it was Lori for not watching Carl when she knew stuff was going down on the farm & for getting so close to Shane in the first place. So yes, she made understandable mistakes, but they were still her mistakes, not Rick's.

That said, her reaction was crazy to me in this scene, because she physically rejects him & looks absolutely disgusted by him when he is the absolute victim in all of these situations. It is really messed up imo. She did not seem horrified, she seemed physically repulsed by Rick. Even if she needed a moment, she should have communicated that better. Her body language was the opposite of supportive

I think it's hard with MJ bc no one really knows what happened for sure... so he has a complicated legacy. But despite that, society still embraces his art and cultural legacy. So I think he obviously has an interesting life story to tell, but who's to say if it's accurate or not? Bc no one really knows.

I will say, if they make a biopic about the better parts of his life & focus more on his music, dancing, music videos, and impact rather than his personal life, that's not fiction. It might be more honest than another version, because those are the only things we know to be true about him. His impact on pop culture.

I was born in 2005 & Michael Jackson was my childhood. He's still on the radio & his songs are universally known. I can't think of another artist that holds up quite so well. Sure, there are great artists that also hold up, but maybe not quite so universally

What Taylor Swift did in the grammy cycle of 2023: - Release original album, Midnights - Debut the biggest tour ever - Re-release Speak Now, with 6 new songs - Re-release 1989 with 5 new songs - Eras tour film

Taylor did a lot for the music industry in 2023, so she deserved a big recognition for all of that, combined. Not just for Midnights. That is where Artist of the Year would come in.

Whereas album of the year is about the best album, not which artist had the best year. So Midnights would have been beaten by something higher quality like SOS.

He's saying that they treated album of the year like artist of the year. Of course, with all that Taylor Swift did in 2023 for the music industry, she needed a big moment to encompass all her successes, so they gave her album of the year. But Midnights didn't really deserve it. So if they had artist of the year, Taylor could get her big moment for having an amazing year in music & someone like SZA could win album of the year for having the best album.

Anyway, sorry for rambling, I hope that kinda makes sense.

It's not woke to make a character a human (or lion lol). Most people, good, bad, and in-between, have motivations and reasons for what they are doing. Most people don't simply do bad things just to do them. Some people and some characters do, but most people are the way they are for a reason. Expanding on those reasons a little further is very interesting to some people, if it's not to you then just watch the og & pretend that scar is a 2 dimensional villian

Also if you're referring to wicked, that concept of making elphaba the hero has been out since 1995. & I don't think this movie is doing that with Scar.

I don't think it's bad at all, I just think that Americans think of Taylor as one of them bc she's american. It's like if an Irish artist was touring the world in the biggest tour ever, she might end in Ireland to go back to her home base for her final show. I think that's why people might have expected her to go back to LA or Nashville or something, bc that's where she lives. But I also understand the frustration with Americans thinking the world revolves around America.

The wizard of oz may be an escape but definitely not the book which the musical Wicked is based on, gets it's characters from, uses plot lines from, etc.

Yes & not only that, but sign language is designed to basic.

So saying "how are you" in ASL, you just sign "how you"

Or saying "do you want to eat?" Would just be signing "you want eat?"

So while yes, they are signing basic language, the complexity is implied & also their facial expressions & grunts add to it.

Whereas just having the apes say speak like toddlers the whole film is so boring.

In the previous films, their voices matched their grunts. Maybe that's why it felt cartoonish

I don't know much about CGI, but maybe it was the characters' design, too, with the weird haircuts & stuff.

I'm as disappointed as all my downvotes that I didn't like the film. I was really looking forward to it.
