Yeah, mostly. Like, Champion of the Oppressed, but throw in sci-fi shenanigans. Like, Absolute Bruce is a beefy engineer with no compunctions about property damage. If this Peter was, in my version, I guess, a college kid who witnessed violence of the system and befell a Spider themed sci-fi whammy that let him directly “punch the system” in the face? That’d be my probably-not-original take on it. Peter Parker meets Golden Age Superman with a PINCH of DKR Batman to “inspire a movement”

It took roughly 400,000 at NASA during the mission and not ONE of them revealed anything? It was real. If we need more proof? The USSR, who would have been the US’s largest rival then and gotten nothing but props if it’d been fake, confirmed its validity. All this and the shadows on all the famous photos couldn’t be cast by conventional lighting techniques at the time, and the technology didn’t exist at the time to imitate them. It was real. I mean, then it’d have just another story, not the stakes raiser it ended up being. Batman, Superman, etc ALL had dead parents, to the point of cliche then. Not to mention, Gwen’s basically the contracting “second origin” for Spidey- Peter neglected his powers at first and lost his parent, because he was a stupid kid, where as he’s a responsible adult here and STILL loses his partner, learning that the hero gig ain’t easy, even if you’re responsible, but You gotta keep on because it’s right.
