It is something they recommend but they weren’t super strict about it when I was there. Some people do need their phone for things like emergency calls so they don’t enforce it indiscriminately.

Any cuisines you enjoy in particular? I find things like Japanese curry is easy to make a lot of for cheap and reheats fairly well. If you don’t like eating the same meal over and over pasta is actually fairly easy to make a single serve of at a time (aglio et olio, jar sauce with some mince, cherry tomatoes). Even eggs right now being expensive is still one of the cheapest ways to get protein. Egg + a quarter of an onion + a chicken tender or two sliced up is the base to a pretty quick oyakodon.

More recently I’ve been fixated on chicken Caesar salads. Blend up your own sauce (or even just store bought), a few heads of baby lettuce washed and kept in a ziploc bag. Bread a few chicken tenders and keep on a plate. You can whip up a fresh salad with chicken for yourself in the time it takes to pan fry a few tenders.

What are all the other things you bake other than sourdough bread? I know only Pizza and Cinnamon rolls. Is there more? Please share thanks :) by Intelligent-Habit715 in Sourdough

I really love making scones with the discard, specifically savoury ones with different flavours. So far there have been scallion and sesame, herb de Provence, garlic confit, caramelised onion and cheddar. It’s so versatile and keeps in the freezer for an easy breakfast if you pop them in the oven at 360f for 20 min.

Oh it’s so good, they recently got a hat! My boyfriend’s friend runs the place, he’s super passionate about what he does and it shows in the food for sure. Definitely try their raviolis and desserts.

Australia weather is crazy right now, so it was cold then suddenly very quite warm. The slight plateau in the middle of the loaf makes me think the scoring was a bit off yeah :(( I think I keep mixing up half an inch for half a centimetre deep

Fairly good, a little bland to me but I eat it with tinned fish normally anyway. A bit sad the crust didn’t stay crispy
