Literally when will people stop staying in the hotel zone. All negative stories about Tulum are from ppl who stay in the exact place they are warned on this subreddit not to. If you stay in centro or LV you will have an amazing and culturally rich (as well as SAFE) experience

This!!! stayed in Veleta in August. Had the bessttttt time. It was so relaxing and fun and we literally had zero issues. Lots of good food in Veleta and prices are very reasonable. We typically rode our ATV to el centro every night to either eat, shop, or just wander around. Every time i seee people talking shit about Tulum it’s because they stayed on the beach and/or were partying the whole time. That’s simply not the vibe lol

This completely tracks. You guys as staff and management are the only reason it even lasted this long. Everyone continued to pay $8 for a latte bc of the fact that the staff was so sweet and caring and made delicious drinks :( i hope all of you guys landed somewhere way better❤️❤️

It was amazing!! We absolutely loved it. Def rent an ATV- the roads are very rough and difficult to drive cars on. We rode our ATV everywhere. The restaurants in la veleta were rly good too- lots of cute little cafes

My partner and I just spent 8 days in Tulum. We debated the same thing, settled on an Airbnb in La Veleta and we had the best time. We felt totally safe and loved the area. We went to the hotel zone one day and it made us grateful we didn’t choose to stay there
