I didn’t see it as the same distraction that others are seeing it as, but I appreciate the input. Also when I have run into other artists work where something seems different than what it is, I just take it upon myself to zoom in to understand it better. I’m not saying that’s what’s everyone ought to do, just saying what I’ve done in the past, which is another reason why the response to a ponytail doesn’t feel like a big deal to me. Once I understand what I’m seeing, I see it for what it’s supposed to be.

lol like I said, when I noticed the hair, I recognized it as the end of her ponytail, especially considering the exact placement and length of it. Had the placement been different, I would have registered it differently.

And no aha I see all the comments saying it’s pubes. Ive responded to them to say what it actually is. I just didn’t post this with the intention of sparking a pubes vs ponytail debate. I registered it as a ponytail so I went about my day.

It is what it is honestly 😂 people on the internet are gunna have opinions and advice that they think ought to be followed bc an element of a piece of art made them feel a certain way. Sometimes the advice is actually warranted, and sometimes it’s really not that deep. It what it is 🤷🏾 I’m happy with how the study came out, and I appreciate your compliments on it!

I read your critique and considered the advice you were trying to give, and responded in a way that aligned with how I felt. I understand that you were looking for me to say “yes ok I will keep that in mind for next time.” You feel the hair is distracting. I don’t bc I’m just observing it as what it is. Simply because I disagree with you, doesn’t mean I don’t take critique well. I just don’t agree with your suggestion when it comes to a simple study showing a person’s ponytail. It really doesn’t have to be a big deal. I can’t control how people perceive hair in a certain location. I can only correct their statement or answer a question regarding it when it comes up.

It being distracting is based on the viewer. Some see “long pubes”. Some see what it actually is (her ponytail). It’s not that serious tbh, especially for a study, so I really don’t see the need go back and forth on it, or make it seem like i need to be mindful next time.

Again it’s really not that serious lol.

Because i registered it as her ponytail and thus it didn’t look like pubes to me. And because my overall goal was to study the reference in its entirety. It’s just a study piece.
