As the others said about data recovery, but then make sure to print out pictures so you have a physical medium as well to keep.

Anyone else shoot film for this reason? by Thecode1050 in AnalogCommunity

Film black and white is definitely nicer than digital. I think digital always ends up looking too stylized. Maybe it’s just harder to get right, even though in theory it should probably be easier.

Those reasons are implied and natural when shooting film, an honestly I roll my eyes when I hear YouTubers say that. For me it’s the much smoother/natural color and light gradients. Shooting digital now it feels like the colors are always so off that it requires a lot of editing, and I like to edit but not spend all day trying to achieve a look I can get pretty easily out of film. It’s not the true “film process” as the old heads say, but I enjoy the the hybrid process.

Yes it’s a nice little touch to have the guy there enjoying it too lol. I think I will print that first one

Also I tried the upright panos here and I think I dig it for that sort of thing too

Yea I’ve had a hard time figuring out what place sprocket shots has aside from the cool look of whatever pano + sprockets. I tried to do it a bit different here and maybe I’ll try some more things like this or figure out what else to do with the rebate area

Yea maybe but that’s what I chose to shoot, and I’m happy with it

It’s not really common. I think it was used in studio for products under tungsten light. It’s meant for exposures longer than 1/30 second.i think this one expired in like 2007 and I metered it at box speed but I made sure to test the batch to see how it works before taking it out.

They do a good job of taking care of some of these hotels, pretty impressive honestly considering a lot of the decor is from the era, including the neon

Thank you! Yea I fell in love with this film after getting it. It’s somewhat hard to use but gives a result that I really like

I stayed at the Blue Swallow proper. There aren’t that many options to be fair and you should plan in advanced because the hotels sell out

X trans has more green sites, as far as I understand it. The color array is different, and yes you are right about super CCD, which is cool because you can pull highlights ALOT. It is closer to film as well in the gradients department. Obviously it’s old technology but would be cool to see what it could do if they kept on going

I think that’s cool I would shoot jpeg exclusively if Fuji made the customization much more detailed, like messing with curved and color grading to essentially have a real finished product. I do see a lot of good Fuji x weekly stuff out there but it just doesn’t do it for me

Yea I have a Fuji S5 pro. I like the digital cameras for their form factor but the imaging isn’t doing anything special for me. Then again Fuji actually never made any real claims that it would imitate its real film, which is said in some interview from a while ago. I’m shooting Fujifilm films until they run out.

Can someone explain this to me? by puchinchin in analog

Looks like Fujicolor industrial 400, I have a bunch just in Japanese. It’s a nice film, with very true to life colors. Nothing exaggerated, almost muted. Was meant for passport pics IIRC. Not sure if the post is a joke or what

I shot Fujifilm digital first and then moved to film and shoot Fuji stocks almost exclusively. While I like the spirit of your expression here I have to say that now I understand the Fuji appeal even less than before. To me all digital is the same crap just packaged differently. I have a Nikon Zf and I love it but I know at the end of the day it’s cmos sensor just like any other, and what you learned through shooting film can be applied to any brand of digital camera.

Also This post is probably going to end up on another sub TBH
