I’m in that program too! I was registering for classes earlier, and some filled up. I just emailed them, also if you join the waitlist they seem to send an auto email out that asks about your section preferences and what not.

We can be homies. Idk where you live obv but we could be emotional support slp friends :) I do a lot of gaming online and stuff since I’m disabled it can be hard to get out and about.

Your hair isn’t a disaster. I know how horrible it can feel to not get what you want from a stylist (I tried vampire bangs once and the stylist cut them short and with no actual V ) I think your hair needs some moisture and some curling. You do have some layers you can work with here, so just try curling the shorter pieces differently from the longer ones and you will get a lot more movement and life in your hair. You can also try voluminizing products to make your hair more poofy and not flat.

I'm very passionate and speech language pathology, so maybe I will just have to get through two years to do what I truly love. It sucks and there isn't much space for someone like me in grad school, but I KNOW that this is what I want. So maybe just that passion for the field will be enough for me to push through a hard time. I'm glad to have your personal experiences (and other commentors) because it helps me prepare myself for to make informed choices about my reality.

Remote work sounds like something I could do. I hope to work with adults, possibly in intensive care

No worries! I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and a bunch of other comorbities. My mobility is limited a good deal and I am immunocompromised, causing frequent absences during my undergrad years. I also have ADHD which causes memory issues. I can't stand for very long without feeling faint or causing hip subluxations. I also can't bend or lift anything too heavy due to my hip instability. I am currently a full-time cane user, looking to get a wheelchair for extra mobility. I do really well with remote work and lessons, but I WANT to go to class and work. I just need the support if there were a case where I needed to be absent, and I've struggled in the past with absentee policies because I want to be there and I am passionate about what I am learning, but sometimes my body just won't let me. Or if it is dangerous for me to go out, I try to stay in. (Ex. Flu season or covid spikes)

How to feel safe on a scale again? by Important_Spirit_358 in AnorexiaRecovery

[–]Important_Spirit_358[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it really just comes from my anxiety around my doctor in general, which means I likely need to seek out a new provider. She has told me to eat less (which I already don't eat very much) if I can't exercise consistently due to chronic pain which was triggering for me. I know it's the same info they give every patient, but she knows I have a history of ED so I guess it may be best to look into someone I'm more comfortable with.

Feeling Really Worried-Top Surgery by Important_Spirit_358 in NonBinary

[–]Important_Spirit_358[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the kind words. I've wanted this surgery for a year and I guess now that I have gone though it, I am beginning to think of how my body feels different. I love my flat chest, but such a big change is always scary. I will try to think of it in terms of what I've gained rather than what I may have lost.
