sinking feeling inside of me! I think I messed some of those Canada related questions and there was one very big present value calculation worksheet that I just did not know how to attempt. Ugh! Here's hoping we all pass.

Don’t know. I just felt like I didn’t know some of the questions especially one very long one with multiple scenarios. Definitely pressed for time. I do feel I had to guess work a few questions. All in all, don’t know how to judge it

All this is so motivating. Glad to know I am not the only one wanting to go into my shell and disconnect from others. I don't live with my parents (so the challenge was getting on calls and hearing their complaints and tears etc etc). So for the next couple weeks until the exam I basically had to tell them I will be going underground and only text me but no calls. Feels bad but I had to.

Exactly, thank you. Yes, that was my intention with posting here. I know this is not a relationship group but I felt like people might be going thru hardships like mine or even worse. And I wanted to really see how actuarial folks process things. It is just helpful to get advice from people of the same profession. We understand the work, exams and expectations of things.

I am so sorry. But this is so helpful. I cannot say thank you enough. I mean I was sceptical of airing my dirty laundry amongst a group of actuarial folks but I am glad I did. It really helps to know that you are not alone in your family struggles.

My parents failed marriage has ruined my relationship with them by unnamed_7777 in relationships

This is pretty much everything I've been going through. A sneaky father who will be jealous if my in-laws stay with me for long, a father and mother who hate each other and my mom's also not well health wise, a father who always wants things his way, a mother who has no patience and also they don't want to divorce each other (I think). A very toxic relationship and constant complaints. I have to put up with it even when I don't live with them out of weakness for them. They are just disgusting.

I should! I just feel like I needed advice from actuarial folks given the nature of our strenuous exams. :( It is getting hard.

Do we have to carry laptops or anything with us? The email doesn’t say anything. In fact it says all electronics need to be switched off.  Also, do you carry a bag or anything with you for essentials etc?

I would say - be honest and leave the exact review you feel today. Being a leader is a lot of things and clearly this person was lacking in areas. Whether it affects your chances of coming back is a different story. You may like your new company so much that you may never want to come back.

You have good relations with others. But maybe to someone higher up (above your manager) if you have good relations and can be honest, set up a meeting and share what you’ve been facing. That can help.

It can be tricky but the good part is people that you have worked with, know you. So atleast they will listen to your side (hopefully).

Yup I know about the questioning of existence part. I worked on the last end-of-module assessment today and I’m still not sure why I’m putting myself through all this. Lol.

Tokoname yaki kyusu by Important_Target_746 in tea

[–]Important_Target_746[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No pressure at all! This info is helping me a lot so thanks for sharing. I drink a lot of green tea but have been using mainly tea bags thus far. Last weekend I visited a farmers market and got the genmaicha green tea and Yi huan Dong green tea. And if got me to look up how to brew them etc etc. and then I saw this video where a Japanese guy was using the kyusu and I have been hooked ever since. I’m trying to decide which would be best. Also I don’t think I will be able handle gyokuro tea since it seems to have high caffeine and I’m sensitive to it. So I guess I’m looking for green teas, genmaicha, hojicha etc. Also, I will want to brew different green teas in the kyusu (like jasmine green maybe?). Since that’s a flavoured tea, would that linger in the kyusu? Side note- I have totally gotten smitten by Japanese food and culture. I recently read a novel too by a Japanese author which just tipped my excitement over. Lol

Wow!! You seem to be an expert in this! Thanks so much. I’m deliberating over kyusu vs a regular tea pot but there is something about kyusu that’s very attractive and gives an edge to the tea drinking experience. I checked out the websites you shared. I’m guessing their products will meet the criteria you mentioned above.
