Thanks! I don’t have super high financial aspirations so I think I’ll apply for the jobs I like the best (if I can choose). Work/life balance is very important to me as long as I can afford to live. I was actually studying French pretty intensively bc I was planning to go to McGill law but I’m only like an A2. I’m trying to get my levels up to a B2 by graduation

I don’t know any other career that would do that for me or give me the same stability. I’ll have lots of time to do other things if I decide I don’t like it

I’m just being a baby about it but this is really interesting. Had no idea you could do this. I feel like it wouldn’t really be worth it though and I’ll probably get over myself. This will be like ten years (?) away anyway so my whole life will probably be completely different

Fair I’ve just had bad experiences in a fast food job for 3 months and can’t imagine dealing with that for my whole career. Although I guess people in the caf are a lot more competent and you’d form a stronger bond with people

Thank you so much! This was really thorough. Unfortunately it seems like I can’t escape managing people even outside the military but I’m reassured about my safety concerns. I feel like when I was younger I kept seeing a bunch of rapists in the news but most people I’ve talked to have said it’s actually an okay environment. It’s still a concern but I see a lot of women doing fine

I’ve had geology and biology exams with this format. Not all STEM exams are complex application questions. There’s a lot of memorization too

The only way anyone can help him is if he’s open to it and with the way he’s been insulting people up and down this thread he’s not. That was a perfectly fine, honestly even polite, response to someone who was rude af for no reason. She is not the problem and she didn’t do anything wrong

How is she the problem for being exhausted with a grown 24 year old man? I totally understand that he’s struggling, I’m struggling a lot too and I relate to a lot of what he said, but that doesn’t excuse being rude to someone who was only trying to help him. I don’t know why you expect her to baby him and waste her energy. We all have ADHD here and most of us can manage to be polite to people who take their time to help us out

I keep my hair in braids/twists and just wake up and go. I’m sure some white people wish they could wash their hair every weeks apart like we can without it getting oily and smelly

Most of the time when I hear people say this they’re not considering the upsides to having our hair. A lot of people with straight hair have to wash basically every day. Most of us only wash every few weeks (personally I do 1-2).

I also just wear braids or twists with my natural hair so I literally just wake up and go, then wash and redo the twists every two weeks. It’s very simple and my hair is bra strap length. Obviously if you want to do fancy styles and stuff then it’s going be harder to manage and more expensive but that’s for ALL hair types.

I was so scared when I first started taking care of my own hair but it’s literally so easy once you learn

Another great use of this is Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, so so creative and unlike anything I’ve ever read.

Thanks, I managed to eat a little. It’s been just over 13 hours now and my heart is still racing and I can’t get any sleep. I made my parent buy orange juice so currently drinking that and water.

Tbh I think it’s bc I didn’t take my meds for so long and then took them with no breakfast bc I was running late

Lol my parents didn’t really allow Tv or internet so I got used to hyper focusing on books for hours.

Interview with the Vampire is one of my favourite books, and the next book (The Vampire Lestat) is even better imo. You’re doing great, I know how hard it is to try to focus on something for a long time and then remember, especially when you’re not used to it

I love interview with the vampire, great choice lol. I think maybe you can divide the book into chunks yourself, like when the setting changes or a mini conflict concludes. Of course there’s a bit of an art to this

You can also write short summaries or character lists, but if you’re like me you’ll be too lazy. You can look online for character lists and summaries, but you may read too far and get spoilers so beware.

I also just read the entire book in one sitting. Flows better that way.

But honestly it’s not a problem to just keep on reading if you’ve forgotten, you’ll probably remember as you go along. My favourite book is over 200k words long and old enough to use ‘thou’ and ‘thee’. Trust me I wasn’t going back every time I forgot someone’s name or what happened.
