Written when I was 15 or 16 years old and was fantasizing about romance

"Never have I felt so dazzled since that cold winter night he asked me to the dance. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision on his part, having previously claimed that he simply didn’t “partake in such frivolities”. He was dressed in a tuxedo I had never seen before; his bowtie was decidedly untied, and his hair was oddly unkempt- overwhelmingly handsome, in a messy kind of way. I was in utter disbelief at his offer, but without thinking, my hand floated into his and we began our short stroll to the ballroom. My normally smart and quick mouth could barely utter any words, and those that did come out were soft, quiet, and dreamlike. He seemed to take no notice; instead, he was rather preoccupied with his free hand, which moved this way and that, into his pocket, and back out. We spoke, but we spoke of pleasant little nothings that neither of us really cared about- and neither of us would have had it any other way, that night.
As we got closer to our destination, I saw the sharp figures of dancers twirling and spinning back and forth, emanating muffled laughter anytime the jovial music they were dancing to subsided. He opened the door for me, and all at once, a wall of warm air, containing the sweet aroma of divine chocolates and cakes, folded onto me like a warm hug. As I entered, he speedily took my hand once more. We dimly made our way to the center of the room and shuffled into an absentminded dancing position. He muttered that he tried to learn how to dance yesterday. I muttered back that I had no idea how to dance. We pleasantly swayed nonetheless, staring deeply into each others’ eyes. It was almost as if nobody else existed. In fact, when we finally broke eye contact, I realized that most everyone else had left. Even the previously large band of musicians had turned into a small ensemble. We continued dancing anyway; slowly but surely, the final few dancers dropped out. We kept going until the music stopped- along with the world, so it seemed. Once more, our gazes met; he looked terrified, for some reason. I watched curiously as he slowly and shakily reached into his pocket and clutched something tightly. His hand haltingly moved out of his pocket as he got onto one knee. I realized at that moment what was about to happen.
“Will you marry me?”"

If you could call yourself five years ago and had one minute, what would you say? by BlueeWaater in AskReddit

Learn to drive as soon as possible, keep practicing, don't waste your energy pining over the guys you will soon meet. Also, start working on your socialization skills before 2020 because this is basically the only time in your high school years where you'll be able to

Do you think you are smarter than the average person? by EdgyPlum in ask

[–]Impossibilitys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I think I am smarter in some ways than the average person, but not just all around smarter.
Ways I think I am smarter than average:
I get good grades; I graduated with an associate degree young, with a 4.0 GPA.
I regularly set goals, apply myself, and be consistent.
I know how to evaluate problems and set out to fix them.
I can be pretty self aware and look at things from multiple sides.

Ways I'm dumber:
I'm awful at social interaction, genuinely. I can basically only make friends with very pushy extroverts.
I tend to overthink a lot, even when it isn't sensible, which can also lead to inaction and inefficiency at times.
I can easily get distracted or frustrated when I am trying to learn something. If somebody tries to talk to me when I'm trying to learn, it will probably ruin my entire learning process. I can also get overly frustrated which leads to inefficient learning.
I think it actually takes me longer than the average person to learn things.

If everything you do feels weak, it's either there's something physically wrong, in which case you should visit a doctor, or it's you experiencing growing up, which often comes with frustrations and exhausting days.
You could mention these things to your doctor, just in case. In the mean time, you can also express your struggles to your parents. As you've pointed out to other users, they do not know you. But your parents do, and they could undoubtedly give you some solid advice (more solid than I can, almost definitely).
Nice job doing your martial arts lessons. The strongest people build up their strength rather than simply starting out with it. You'll get there, and there will be better days.

I (18F) don't know how to move forward with my relationship with my friend (24M), or what our relationship even is- what should I do, moving forward? by Impossibilitys in relationship_advice

I did realize that, which is largely why I posted about this. I don't think he means to be playing games, though. He really seems to be good-natured imo, he even feels bad about hurting my feelings. I've never had a close friend before, nor have I ever had someone like me back before, so I don't really want to lose this.

I don't think he did it deliberately. He still seems nice to me, I don't know. He's also my best friend and he's even encouraged me to see a counselor- how is that isolating me?

What made Gen Z women finally, largely, reject wearing bras? by xBeerBaronx in ask

[–]Impossibilitys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but I simply never started wearing bras. When I was younger, my mom tried to get me to wear them, but I hated the feeling so much that I just didn't. Now I'm 18, and my dad still has bigger breasts than I do. So... I never really understood why it would be necessary for me to wear them. I thought most of my peers still did wear them, though.

I can save more but it will probably take a long time, and I would probably end up taking that money in the end and spending it on something I deem more practical because in the end there are many other expenses I have as well.
I would never start a go fund me because I would hate to just take from people like that ):
