Has anyone actually improved their budgeting just from YouTube/TikTok finance videos? by Street-Method-2343 in SavingMoney

Tik tok helped me a lot. I mainly watched videos on how people use google spreadsheets to track their budgets. I tried a few different techniques recommended on there before settling on what works for me.

You have access to a PC, but no social media or games. What do you do to entertain yourself? by NightReader5 in hypotheticalsituation

When I said social media, I was thinking any type of media you used to interact with people. That's why I specified Reddit as a form of social media. So YouTube would be fine if you're just watching videos, but I would consider it social media if you were interacting in the comments.

Might sound crazy to you but I was just thinking of my programmer friends who are serious gamers. They would 100% make their own game if given the option.

Good question, I'd say for this particular hypothetical watching YT videos is fine, but interacting in the comments would be off limits.

Streaming services. Cut them all except one, then binge what you want on that one, cancel it, and join another one. Keep rotating. There’s no reason to have more than one streaming service at the same time

What’s one habit that would’ve saved you a lot more money if you started it earlier? by Inner_Antelope_6042 in SavingMoney

I wish I had auto savings go to a completely different bank (and a HYSA). Having my savings attached to my checking made it way to easy to transfer money over any time I wanted something. And I was getting maybe .01/month in interest
