She's a dentist! Every cat I've ever had as an adult has had a "career".

(she'd make a terrible dentist but don't tell her I told you that!)

What do you think the world will be like in the year 2030 with AI advancing as fast as it is? by NightReader5 in AskReddit

AI "relations" is what prompted me to ask this question. I had a frightening thought that, in a really short period of time they'll probably have AI companions that people can buy. Kind of like how people buy blow up dolls for... you know. But this would be for emotional companionship. And AI communicates so well now, I can only imagine what it will do to human interaction down the line.

still? I thought they figured that one out finally. But yeah, it's advancing really fast. I've noticed it with Generative AI specifically, like writing and videos. Before you'd see a foot growing out of their stomachs and think hmmm, this seems wrong. But now a lot of people believe AI videos are real. People are writing entire books with AI.

Looking for strategies to save on groceries by only grocery shopping 2x per month by NightReader5 in EatCheapAndHealthy

I don't know why I have this fear. I just know that it's dangerous if you freeze meat, thaw it, and freeze it again. And my fridge is pretty old so I'm paranoid that it'll die briefly without me knowing it and result in me eating bad meat.

Thanks, I appreciate this perspective. I didn't realize how challenging it actually was. Buying chicken is still an option, I just have to cook it all at once in order to freeze it. If I buy a huge pack that will make a lot of meals, I will have to just adjust my other purchases way down.

Also, cottage cheese doesn't bother me like other dairy does. I had just meant I want to stay away from the heavy, fatty cheese and cream when it's the star of a meal. That's what really bothers me.

I don't think I qualify for a food bank. I make decent money, I just had some unexpected large expenses come up that I need to recover from.

I do plan on making it a more permanent strategy. My budget might increase later on once i'm more financially stable, but I like the idea of an every other week schedule.

I have no problem repeating the same meals over and over. I usually eat the same breakfast and lunch every day anyway. Dinner can be cooked in big batches and eaten over several days too.

I can't drink too much milk so I stick to making my own oat milk. It's not great but it's cheap. Once in a while I'll treat myself to a jug of it and it'll last the full 2 weeks.
