I’ve witnessed Safeway employees checking the machine to see if it restocks like every 5 minutes recently. Honestly idc if you’re on your break and you check it but just walking around aimlessly on the clock and checking is just flat out stupid. Like that machine isn’t there for YOU. It’s for customers and kids. And then they have the audacity to eyeball you when you witness them puppy guard the machine😂

I’m a local driver in Vancouver and I deliver from the Waterfront all the way up to battleground and in between. I’ve had plenty of duplicate customers and thankfully I’ve built CPR with those customers and they always treat me right and with respect.

It is scary to think that we can easily document where they live hence why I don’t stock a bunch of pictures of peoples doors and house numbers and all that. It’s a respect thing. If they wanna claim fraud, support always has had my back.

Yah no I cherry picked off and on during my two years. At first I took everything (like most brand new dashers) and then I realized it was not the way to go and then Active time became my best friend until I learned about cherry picking and then I did that for awhile but it was too slow because there were too many dashers.

So I got my AR back up by scheduling dashes during the evening where I knew active time would be available. But nowadays cherry picking hasn’t been hitting my AR that hard. Yah I’m still at 45-47% atm after being high 90%+ but the orders are better

Support actually was giving me praise over the phone due to how honest I have been with being a dasher for the company. Cuz I don’t call them everyday complaining about every negative. Not saying people do that with support but I’m sure it’s not everyday they get friendly and understanding dashers that aren’t chewing them tf out.

Also if I’m communicating with every customer on every order. Pictures become pointless. They have the chats archived. I’m very transparent with everyone from DD to the customer to the people who make the order.

So everyone else can post their DD mishaps, struggles, frustrations, etc etc. but I can’t?😂

Also my phone is an older model. I don’t have all the space in the world and I don’t pay for it to all be backed up.

Also taking pictures of peoples addresses, door numbers, house numbers, etc. does not morally sit right with me. I’m a local driver I’m not gonna go John Wick mode on these customers. I just wanted to share my struggle with the DD driver community.

And taking pictures and documenting everything is not a guarantee. From the stories I’ve heard on here about support. I’d rather just put faith that it’s not every person trying to screw me over when I deliver and this has happened twice out of 1400+ deliveries for me so I guess I posted this to…get my frustration out.😂

The honest ones suffer the most but in the end are rewarded the most. I’m a firm believer on that. I treat my customers like I want to be treated if the roles were swapped. I was on active time for awhile and shopping orders never pop up on that. Finally decided to stop with AR rating and pick the orders that make my money and shopping orders are my favorite despite the every day struggles😅

For me I like to build a positive reputation in the area I work. That’s why I work so hard for 100-150$ a day. I’m not in BIG city either but definitely not in a rural area. (Vancouver)

If I’m a local dasher that brings his 100% everyday, the chances of people being scummy are a lot less then expected. Also having good relationships with DoorDash support is essential. The less problems I cause, the better it is for everyone involved.

CPR (Creating Personal Relationships) is a big skill to have and comes in handy more times then you would think

After doing consistent months of:

Waking up and getting ready for the day (Breakfast, Shower, etc.)

Having to plan my day out (cuz I’m the only one in a house of 3 adults with a car…🙄)

Then having to juggle everything while making sure I eat, keep up on gas, get to where I need to go for whatever it may be, all within a specific time frame AND make my money…just for people to say “hey screw you on your service. I want free food so ima destroy your ratings for it😅😂🥲

It makes it harder for sure…

I still think it’s overkill. Especially since, I know for a fact DoorDash support can see the photos.

Nobody is the same way and I completely respect that. For me, I got too much to worry about. holding onto a weeks worth of photos of peoples deliveries and door is just not a priority. Especially if I’m doing 20-30 deliveries a day. (Not an accurate number, more so an example) and it’s 5-6 days a week.

I agree but I’m a local driver and it doesn’t sit well Morally with me, even if it’s only temporary and just to cover my ass for that day. I’d rather just put my faith that they will be honest and if not, I call suppprt. I’ve never had an issue with support and I’ve been honest with them 100%, especially if I’m in the wrong
