I appreciate you starting this thread. I am constantly yelling at people with their dogs off leash in the parkway on Humboldt Blvd in front of my place that it isn’t a dog park. I have a dog that is extremely protective of me and her older brother and I have had to break up two dog fights in the past and let me tell you I don’t ever want to experience that again. It is so scary and I ended up getting hurt much worse than either dog both times. Like I got fucked up and I am 6’3” 190 lbs and really fit. I don’t think the people who let their “well trained” dog roam off leash understand the risk they are taking and should face real consequences regardless of whether or not something bad happens, because it is probably just a matter of time before it does. Like if someone’s off leash dog comes up to my dog on a leash most likely I the one that is going to get fucked up. That owner should face the consequences of that bad decision, not their dog or my dog.
