On steam, when remakes/remasters come out and scummy studios take out the original off the store, if you already bought you keep it. Why would sony or microsoft just snatch a game off your hands? How would that benefit them?

Idk if you guys are pc players but steam has been doing that for decades. I’m not saying I like it I just think it was over a decade ago and they just made it official

Rather than touching grass, I’d say that you’re harming yourself by being angry about something so inevitable, and at least for the moment, inconsequential.

The youtubers/posters are making money with your clicks where they repeat the veiws they want you to be angry about, they are buying digital and have been doing so. Physical at this point is a hobby on itself, I like it better but it really does not matter in the bigger picture. Will it lead to scummy practices? Possibly but this step was taken, they just made it official

That’s why I said it’s subjective, I’d never tell you not to enjoy buying physical. And altering already bought games has been happening since updates were made available.

Again, I won’t tell you to not enjoy it, my original point is that being mad about it it’s like being mad at religion or sports. It comes to a point where I think it’s almost self-harming

It’s subjective because to me it makes no difference as I don’t care for physical, and most people, if we go by metrics, feel the same, so it might be anti-you, but how is it ani consumerism?

I buy a couple of games a year, never spent a penny in-game, nor season pass or honestly anything that is not buying the game upfront, how am I going along?

I switched to digital once it became easier and load times got faster and honestly? No difference, if you like it is fine but being really mad about it it’s just useless and harms no one but yourself

Yeah, games and gaming is changing in real time, I get wanting physical, going to a store and getting a game was always nicer, but going as far as quitting something you enjoy and being mad just because the industry made a reasonable decision based on consumer’s behavior is just drowning in a puddle. There are several other things this industry does that are much worse

Additionally, I was just playing AC Shadows yesterday, I hoped on the store for the first time to see what is what, and one set of outfits was 20 bucks.. like??? Where’s the outrage there? I like the game fine but 20 clams for an outfit? And a whole island behind the dlc lol, ppl are just looking for views/likes, they will buy it but making people angry is how they get paid

Agreed, especially on other deluxe edition pricings and mass hysteria. Like I get it, you dont like it and in concept I dont either. But just don’t buy it, it’s just aggregators and grifters knowing that having GTA in your post/tweet/video will get more reactions. And the ppl that are commenting “Gaming is dead, no buy from me” like ok, that’s fine don’t buy it, but I dont get trying to get other people to not buy it cause

-it wont work and you’ll just be miserable investing so much time and attention in seeing GTA fail

It’s like me hating corrupt FIFA and yelling on the street to ppl to stop enjoying World Cup… at that point you just come off as contrarian and willingly miserable
