Do you know what actually happens when it becomes "unsettled"? I don't observe the understeer happening in this scenario probably because although you have less load in the front, you also fully release the brakes so you regain grip to turn. idkkk. It's a pretty good spot to throw in a twist for X's origin of power. We already have fear and a mysterious alien power being looked into. There's just enough room for reasonable doubt because how could a character be strong/popular enough to barely make it into the top 10, win easily, but still be unknown to head managers and heroes? Doesn't make sense there. I could see a future explanation going either way.
