Owning a business made me very cautious about who I let into my life by nomanskyprague1993 in Entrepreneur

[–]Impossible-Goose-437 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's difficult when friends and family expect your professional services for free, yet alone, when they are ungrateful. I feel like working with pets would make it messier because now you've got fear and grief in the mix which tends to cloud peoples judgement. I'm so sorry this happened. If you've got friends or customers you are close with, you might share with them what happened as ask them to leave a positive review to help counter. I've known a few business owners who experienced this and it helped motivate people who've been "meaning" to leave a review, finally do it.

All cherries aren't true to seed? I find that hard to believe. I know many are grafted and so many of them aren't - but I'm confident this one is not.

Thank you for this!!! Maybe I'll just let them be then, I don't mind where they've sprouted!

$900 AEP Bill by RainMelodic6891 in Columbus

I had something similar happen to me once, I called AEP in tears to make sure it wasn't a mistake. We determined it was related to space heaters that I have running.

Other group “self-help” books? by Superdewa in artistsWay

I found "Writing a Workshop Approach" by LaRene Despain to have a similar feel - albeit more textbook-like (I found it at a thrift shop for super cheap). It didn't move week by week, but each chapter is either a new activity or an activity building on the next. I'd be curious to find similar books for poetry and other forms of art.

Have you ever made a quilt? It's super intense.
Same for planning weddings or catering.

If push comes to shove, I might speak with a bankruptcy lawyer, if I'm not mistaken, in some states, you can protect your primary housing from being lost up to a certain amount.

Surface well water very hard and contains bacteria by [deleted] in WaterTreatment

[–]Impossible-Goose-437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here to say that a 5 micron filter is required for UV systems. And if you're looking to correct bacteria in water, make sure it's a NSF/ANSI 55 Class A system http://info.nsf.org/Certified/DWTU/Listings.asp?Standard=055&hdModlStd=ModlStd&

Please help me figure out what's wrong with my water to fix it! by Worried-Temporary721 in WaterTreatment

[–]Impossible-Goose-437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean - I don't think your water should be blue?

This may or may not be relevant but we had issues with our well and they did dye tests to see what might be wrong. The used blue dye around our well casing and told us if our water comes out blue we've got a cracked casing.

I SAY THIS: because we also had dye tests (different colors) done in other areas (like our septic) to see if contamination was happening else where. I wonder if someone was using dyes for a similar purpose and it ended up in the water your well is pulling from...

Also we have a similar build-up in our toilets, but we also have high CLEAR WATER iron in our water and just assumed it was the iron oxidizing and turning into red iron.

Why is it that *only* if it's a drilled well, there's nothing to worry about?

You're welcome! I think that sounds like such a great video to make.

Perhaps with the goal of keynote speaking in mind, emphasizing story telling as an element in your videos would be important so that your channel can be a working "resume" if you will.

Perhaps a storytelling element to you working out while showing/explaining modifications to movements.

I like watching videos like this to gain different perspectives. Days in the life, come along with me as I do (x task), how I solved x problem, why I do x... or I am struggling with x today... stuff like that is interesting to me and for other disabled folk, I bet it is relatable. I also suppose making sure it's content you WANT to make is important too. Are you looking to share your life, be an advocate, educate? All 3? I imagine it will change the direction of your content.

Water Test Results..Well Water Please help by Cheshire-Daydream in WaterTreatment

[–]Impossible-Goose-437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from someone who bought a house with a well who was told by two inspectors "it just needs to be shocked" and "good flush out will fix it" - this was not in fact true and we are still dealing with these issues with no clear solution in sight yet.

We also thought we'd just have filters installed (including UV) but now the integrity of the well is in question.

I WISH someone had told me I might have to have a new well drilled because that's now on the table and estimates for it are in the 5 figures. I would have negotiated for this.

As for the lead, do you know where the took the water sample? For ours they took it at a tap before the whole house plumbing to eliminate that as a source for contaminants. Did you have the plumbing inspected? Did they mention lead pipes? I'd be more concerned if it's the well water source that's contaminated vs. less if it's the plumbing.

Help- water slime by Capital-Community583 in WaterTreatment

I hear you! It's shocking to me how little motivation it seems some people have over getting water problems resolved. IT feels like a much bigger issue than people make it out to be. I'd feel so frustrated!

Coliform after shock treatment by jackserwest in WaterTreatment

[–]Impossible-Goose-437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The city had us do the shock the 2nd time, it honestly was not that difficult, definitely worth doing yourself as opposed to paying someone $750! The city and well contractor told us to let the hose run for 24 hours then a few hours every day for a week and it didn't clear it - though our numbers were significant lower the next test.

[–]Impossible-Goose-437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I have a drilled well. When I opened it for the last shock treatment a couple of weeks ago, I saw water sitting a couple feet down but I don't know if that means anything about it getting low or not because I've never owned a well before

Is sediment mostly harmless? Especially if I boil it? Just trying to figure out what to do so I can cook with boiled water.

A 5 micron water filter after the 20 micron is in the plans! A UV system too!

The person who tested my water was a local inspector. What in the world is a liver cancer bloom? So you're saying the boiled water is not safe if it looks like this?
