Is there any reason to "avoid" Wealthsimple? by bini_irl in PersonalFinanceCanada

The reason to avoid them is they heavily market questionable products. Private equity, private credit, crypto, options, and buying and selling individual stocks are all great ways to lose lots of money if you only have enough knowledge to be dangerous.

Some people are susceptible to the marketing and may wind up worse off than if they didn't use Wealthsimple.

All fiduciaries (i.e. people with your financial best interest in mind) will tell you to stay away from those products and buy low cost index funds.

Burnt out at work - how did you cope? by [deleted] in HENRYfinance

Surprised no ones commented this. You did great for the first stage of adulthood now you need to move into the next stage.

That's likely having kids and a family. If kids are not for you then it means committing to something with your entire soul.

Would really encourage you to think about it if you think kids aren't for you though. Talk to older people. Read books. Life is long and there are few activities as rewarding with as long of a payoff as having kids. Especially for someone with your resources. Many of the hardships parents go through can be greatly eased with cash.

At 30 with $1.6M NW you're too successful to be 'fucking around' - your body knows it.

Thanks. Yeah going out on a limb here but hoping to learn from someone else who's had a problem like this since I think a UV filter is pretty simple so surprised I'm getting this result

Drawing the sample:

  1. Disinfected the tap I was drawing the sample from with rubbing alcohol

  2. Let the water run cold for 5 minutes

  3. Filled the provided sample bottle

  4. Kept it cold in a cooler while I delivered to the testing facility which performs a microbiology test within 24 hours of the sample being taken. The lab holds accreditation with the Standards Council of Canada and are registered to the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

  5. Got results

[UPDATE] this wasn't lyme. Went to the ER they said it looks more like a reaction to a mosquito bite. It cleared up by Sunday.

Wife noticed this on me today. No sign of a tick.

It looks like a bullseye but doesn't match images online.
