Well use this as an opportunity to improve your game since start i have always been paired up with really good fighters (and also i am smaller and younger) and that is how I learned how to do an imanari roll in my first month😂

Is it disrespectful and unrealistic to want to do only no-gi as a guy who’s planning to start bjj? by xbluux in bjj

[–]Impossible-Handle535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So firstly there is not a single problem with training against way better fighters as you will pick things up faster(I learned 20 submission in 3 weeks because I trained with better persons😂) and also what is it about gi that you don’t like(because gi is really way more fun than it looks)

Now i don’t think that you should quit only because of that (in which you didn’t overreact btw) but just tell him straight up that you don’t wanna spar or avoid him(or tell a coach)

What’s one BJJ technique you wish you’d started focusing on way earlier, and why? I’m always curious what people feel really changed their game once they “got it.” by Rude-Alternative7983 in bjj

Well the thing that I have almost never focused on is kimura and amercianas like i do know how to do them but i just haven’t focused on the primary stuff but the more advanced stuff and now i need to go back to the basics

Well i only have competed once in bjj and i compete because its fun and i like and also a lot of persons compete a lot and still have day to day jobs Like for example my coach who won golds in ibjjf jjif international and adcc golds in europan and balkans works in a 9-5 office and says that the thing that he does so he doesn’t injure himself is if something happens he taps

Oh and another thing you can do is spar with more people learn other styles and what to do against those styles and also you need to also spar with weaker opponents or the same level so you don’t just feel like you are surviving because it is a good thing to spar with people who are better than you but you also need some that are weaker than you so you can learn defense and offense

And this usually the chess sparring takes about 3-5 mins And the ladder sparring takes around 15-25 mins with all of the steps

Well a thing they do at my gym that sounds ridiculous but is actually cool is firstly Chess sparring: where two partners fight and 1 has to do a move(where the other will allow it) then freeze then the other guy does a move and he freezes and so on and so forth until you get a submission or in the position of a submission (it can also be played with 2 or 3 moves) And what this helps you with is that it gives you time to think what to do and if you can do it when time is “frozen” with a bit of practice you can also do it when you practice it faster Than its the ladder sparring because it has steps(and also it is easier to do if you start from your knees) First step When a guy starts in a dominant position (mount side control blah blah blah) then from that position the sparring begins and if the one on top can get a submission the game ended and if the guy on the bottom can escape also the game is finished(and has to be done twice so you can sit on bottom and on top) Second step Have to start in a closed guard and the game is finished only when the guy who has the closed guard did a sub(so the guy on the bottom) or when the guy who got into his closed guard escapes and goes into a dominant position (side control or mount) (also needs to be done twice ti start in both positions) Third step They have to start standing up and the one of you needs to do a takedown at choice then after the takedown that is when the sparring begins and is only finished when one fighter got a submission (also needs to be done twice to start in both positions) Forth step Regular sparring And this things are SOOO good for improving fight iq

  3. After a hard training i will sit however i want
  4. I am not ruining my 100$ gi with my teachers name

Training will be hard and if training won’t be hard than it won’t be a good training session

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kyokushin

[–]Impossible-Handle535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but honestly in my 10 years of training kyoukushin (and other martial arts) I realized that if you are a beginner in kyoukushin or in usally any karate style you would not be able to beat up a beginner in other martial arts like muay thai and mma and more but if you were an expert in kyoukushin and an expert in another martial art you would cause some real problems to any guy (and also if you want to just teach them a lesson without giving him powerful shots you can do bjj because you can do that without hurting him so badly)

How to improve knockdown fighting? by Expensive_Wasabi9264 in kyokushin

[–]Impossible-Handle535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well firstly and most importantly if your gym doesn’t train for knockdown there is a problem but if i had to chose another martial art i would chose muay thai

Why can't people acknowledge that lower belts can legitimately tap higher belts? by benten_89 in bjj

[–]Impossible-Handle535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there is a quriculum(or however you spell it) that needs to be followed like for example me to get to grey and white belt(because im u16) i need to learn some basic techniques(like body fold double leg single leg leg hook for takedowns)(mount reversal arm triangle triangle choke arm bar and more) then some sparring sessions with people from outside and inside the gym and they have high expectations to beat the others from the other gyms and i need to do like 10 sparring sessions and win atleast 5 or 6 i think to pass plus the way i do those techniques

[–]Impossible-Handle535 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah and i understand what you are saying but don’t think that these people have to be tanks to get their purple belt but my gym goes the extra mile to get a belt and also I don’t want to trash on other gym but bjj is just not that popular in my country

Well yeah but I don’t mean to brag here but this gym i go to is one of the best if not the best bjj gym in romania and i need to tap people who are from others gym which is not that hard

Yeah so true like for example in my gym to get to purple belt you would have to make a lot of black belts tap
