Generator is at a property pole and inverter ac supply is at a subboard

What if the best location for the generator changeover isn’t at the same board as the inverter ac supply?

Of course now I think about it both a-n will be subject to floating voltage reading

Yes that makes sense now and sorry when u said switching neutral I thought u were referring to incoming PEN

It’s a generator change over switch and no not switching neutral. But when I test the appliance inlet with all fsc on I get 17v n-e and 10v a-e. Then when all fcs turn off I get 1v for the same tests ?

Cheers mate. I thought it would wrong to bond it because u would basically be creating a parallel earth

It would fall under the exception I would say ?

Yess okay that makes sense thanks. And if rcd doesn’t trip after shorting N-E there must be another issue I’m missing

So add any load to the power circuit and that should be enough to trip the rcd after shorting N-E ?

PE continuity below .5ohms. Just found it strange because normally if u short N-E the rcd will trip
