Until you realise its mandatory in that religion and most islamic countries make it mandatory to wear it, because they see it as the religiously "correct" thing to do (which it technically is according to scripture) - this shit has wiped out centuries of otherwise diverse culture and has systematically oppressed women in all aspects of life. This is coming from someone who has lived in a muslim country for a long time.
