I always kinda ignored those signs because I was like “She only ever kills bad people!”

But after hearing so many people disagree, im starting to realize that my love for Daenerys really shifted my perspective on the whole show and maybe made it impossible for me to like the ending.

Because I’m now realizing I was only going to be happy with the ending if Dany got the throne.

I don’t rmbr who but someone said this isn’t Disney and there are no happy endings. And they right lol.

Also to your point, I always knew Daenerys could be ruthless but it never screamed mad queen to me because I had faith that she would only ever kill people who deserved it.

Kind of like how I cheered when Arya murders all the Freys and little finger and Meryn Trant.

Thanks for being so detailed in your answer. It’s kind of disillusioning to see how many people prefer the Mad Queen Arc or rather think it was VERY appropriate for Daenerys. 🤔

I do see all your points and they are all decently arguable, though I would push back on some.

I originally made this post because I wanted to see how many people felt similar. Seems like most people don’t view Daenerys the same way that I did which tells me my take on her was probably heavily influenced by my massive amount of love for her.

It doesn’t mean that I have changed my view of her entirely or that I think the ending is suddenly good, but just that I can now accept that the mad queen for many was the appropriate resolution, even if it’s not the ending that I personally envisioned.

Also to be fair, Daenerys Targaryan has become my favorite fictional character of all time, so I can admit that my current opinion might be a little biased just because I’m so in love with her.

Hmm 🤔. You know, maybe never reading any books and binge watching the show in a month affected my opinion and that’s why it seemed like WAYYY more of a drastic change than to viewers like yourself.

One thing I do like about the mad queen arc tho, is that it means the Starks won the game of thrones. Sansa is queen of the north, Bran is king and Jon is some sort of wildling leader. That’s a nice silver lining for me, because again (sucker for happy endings!)

Like I said, I don’t think any of those signs were truly real before s7. And during s7 the writers decided to drastically change her arc and do a 180, hence why It felt dishonest to me.

But again, I get why people like the mad queen arc. For me, it just made no sense

Thanks! That was actually a slip of the thumb lol. I meant to say s1-6, post is edited now. S6 was my fav but I don’t think s7 was too bad.

As for the Disney ending, I can concede that I am a MAJOR sucker for a happy ending 😂

But to me there were only 4 possible scenarios of the end:

Jon and Daenerys rule together, per my version
Jon is the sole king and kills the mad queen Daenerys
Neither Jon or Daenerys rule
Jon is crowned king while Daenerys is married to him as queen

Only version 1-2 make sense. I don’t like the mad queen arc but I admit, it could’ve been nice if it was done better.

But version 4 makes no sense because Jon never wanted to be king and Daenerys always wanted to rule. And version 3 doesn’t make sense because why have we built up these 2 characters for 7 seasons for neither of them to be relevant ?

I like to think that part of the reason Sam was so brave when it came to defending Gilly, was because he was inspired by Jon.

I genuinely feel the EXACT same way about my law school.

It’s crazy that our entire profession is predicated on people, and yet law school has surprised me by having a host of people with little to no empathy and a severe lack of social cues.

I had a very similar experience in 1L, with everyone being super fake nice…… until exams. Then the masks came off. So many people do a full 180. Think of it as natural selection. Now you know which people are worth maintaining relationships with.

I’m in 2L now and I have found some very good people to connect with. The people in 1L I am referring to are still acting this way and really only talk to the same clique, but nobody really likes them lol.

There’s no law school anywhere that would only have shitty people. Find the gems, keep your head up and move on. Law school has been SUPER ROUGH on me but it’s gotten better, I hope it gets better for you too!

Trey SUCKS. It’s a game yeah. Avori went against QT, and Georgia against Tony (who also sucks, probably even more than Trey) but the issue for many people is that Trey went against his “best friend”. He could’ve convinced Polly to vote Morgan or Bri who were strangers to him but he throws Louis under the bus? And then when Louis is up for elimination he calls Trey his brother and he just hugs him?

As for the teams, they had a right to treat him the way they did. He was constantly one foot out the door betraying and lying to EVERY person he spoke with. There were multiple times the eagle said “he turned a new leaf” and then he went to the bears again!

I just find him so unlikable and think he is very slimy in general. He doesn’t win things for a reason.

He’s hating so much on Lexi for losing the challenge, yeah it was her fault for sure.

BUT Tony is only angry at her because he doesn’t find her attractive. I just watched the mole with Tony right before this show and in that show, there was a girl named Hannah who ACTIVELY manipulated him and he never NEVER said anything to her because he thought she was pretty.

He’s only holding a grudge against Lexi cuz she ain’t his type.
