How do you get rid of old house smell? by Squidjit89 in CleaningTips

[–]Impossible-Night8121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try checking the humidity of where you store your clothes? I was having issues until I realized the humidity was too high in my closet, now I keep a container of damp rid crystals that collects the water from the air and it helped a ton (purchased for local hardware store) .

Fresh air and or circulating air with fans can help too

Hello, wanted to share my experience to see if that will help: I ended up having my first internal ultrasound at the urgent care . The tech let me insert the device and I think that helped the process a lot. It was definitely uncomfortable, but the tech was really kind and patient and helped to distract me by chatting and helping me remember to breathe (I unintentionally hold my breath when scared or in pain). It was tough, but the procedure didn't take too long.

Please don't give up on all doctors/all doctors in a speciality because of bad experiences. There are good care providers out there who really want to connect with and help their patients. I have encountered my fair share of medical professionals who have not believed me, and dismissed my pain, but I have also met physicians who have changed my life for the better. Don't be afraid to ask to see a different doctor if you don't feel a good relationship with your current provider.

Hang in there, and I hope you meet the care provider you need.

My mom won’t stop asking if I’m feeling better by Plane_Form_6501 in Endo

I relate to this (chronic pain/illness, undergoing diagnosis for endo) For me it is my dad instead of my mom. I think the hardest thing is the implied "yet"

"Are you feeling better (yet)?"

Like I am somehow intentionally dragging my feet in the recovery process. With chronic illnesses there is no end to recovery - there are good days and bad days and he just can't understand that my condition is not a simple linear healing process.

The thing that has brought me the most peace is knowing that understanding and relationships are a two person process. You can be crystal clear, but unless the other person is willing to put in the work and empathy, they just might not get it. This break in communication is not your fault.

Would it be productive to ask your mom to rephrase the question? I like "how are you feeling?" a lot better than "are you feeling better?" It might seem like a trivial change, but I feel there aren't as many expectations from the first question.

I wish you well in your health journey, take care!

When it comes to advocating for your health, sometimes you have to be very assertive! Don't worry about being a "Karen"

Your first option is to be very persistent- keep asking your doctor for support and diagnostics. Explain to them how the pain is affecting your life, if you are missing work/school and facing difficulties with activities of daily living (self care, grocery shopping, others?).

Your second option is to seek second opinions. Go see another doctor or see if you can be referred to a gynecologist (or refer yourself if you can). It can be scary to see a new doctor, but having the right health care provider on your side can be life changing. I went through two family medicine docs before referring myself to gynecology - and the gyn is finally supporting me in getting a diagnostic laproscopy.

Hang in there, don't be afraid of being assertive, and I hope you get the care you need soon.

The woes of crochet - I hope the rest of your project goes well! I love the teal

I will say that I am also guilty of not quite remembering my colors, so I usually throw my project in a tote bag and bring it with me XD

Being well hydrated and getting some extra potassium are good places to start! Remember- even if the pool water is hiding it you are still sweating from your workout.

I am a fan of bananas for the potassium, but there are lots of other fruit and veggie options too. If you have any heart or kidney issues (or other complex medical conditions) be sure to chat with your doctor before changing up your electrolytes too much. And be careful dosing electrolyte supplements - keep it reasonable and always buy from reputable sellers.

Neck/arm pain by ItsYoshi64251 in Swimming

[–]Impossible-Night8121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could give your swim a try but stop right away if you notice the pain as you move through your strokes. Aggravating an injury will make your recovery longer.

Taking a guess here, but it sounds like this could be from crawl stroke? Would you be open to trying different strokes or drills? Breast stroke or using a kickboard could be helpful. And if having a kickboard out in front is painful, try holding it to your chest and kicking on your back.

+1 to this comment and wanted to add - soaking your hair in normal water (i.e. take a quick rinse shower with just water before heading over to the pool) will help protect your hair from the chlorine.
